  • Cimetiere Americain de Colleville-sur-Mer - Visit the American Cemetery behind Omaha Beach, the final resting place for over 9,000 American servicemen and women. Managed by the American Battle Monuments Commission, this revered site is the most frequented D-Day location in Normandy.
  • Pointe du Hoc - Explore the remarkable site of Pointe du Hoc. Trace the path of the 2nd US Ranger Battalion, led by Lieutenant Colonel James E. Rudder, who scaled the cliffs to eliminate a German gun battery that threatened the US landing. Witness bomb craters, bunkers, and dugouts on this extraordinary battlefield.
  • Sainte-Mere-Eglise - Visit the small town of Sainte-Mere-Eglise, central to the Airborne operation and the first town captured by American paratroopers. Learn about the paratrooper who got caught on the church tower and hear detailed accounts of this pivotal operation and the bravery of the men involved.

You MUST hire this guide in Normandy! - Yannick was our guide - I’ve taken a LOT of tours over the years and he’s the single best guide I’ve ever had. My two friends (who also travel and tour a lot) agreed. Yannick was incredibly knowledgeable, with a broad and specific understanding of all aspects of the Normandy invasion, but not in a pedantic way. He was casual, funny, easy to talk to, and did an incredible job of personalizing the Normandy invasion by telling stories about soldiers/people. He also had excellent pictures and maps to help us understand. Yannick is also flexible and adapted to our wishes as the day went on. If you go to Normandy he is an absolute star. Must hire him - you will not be disappointed!

Amazing Tour With Yannick! - Our tour yesterday of the American beaches was nothing short of superb. Yannick is an amazing guide who is deeply passionate about his work, which comes through in the depth and energy of his tours. We have been on many guided tours in Europe, and nothing surpasses the tour Yannick delivered for us. We left there feeling like we were there, 80 years ago. Remarkable!

Wonderful experience! - Yannick was fabulous! He is passionate about history and his love for teaching was evident our entire time together, four days. His depth of knowledge about D-Day and the Normandy campaign is amazing, and he has created a portfolio of maps and photographs that supplement his comments and help bring the events alive. We saw no other tour guide with a similar portfolio. His expertise extends to history beyond the beaches – Mont Saint Michel as an example. When I return to northern France I will seek out Yannick again. Without question, he receives my very highest endorsement. I urge you to seek out Yannick and his colleagues, you will be glad you did!

Excellent guide and D-Day experience - We spent a wonderful day touring D-Day sites with Yannek. He is a great guide, with a full knowledge of the history of the area and the various sites related to WWII. He brought the history to life for us and was willing to alter the proposed schedule to fit in all the things that we were interested in seeing and learning about. I would highly recommend Yannek & HQ Company Tour to anyone who is interested in the history of WWII and the D-Day landing.
