Great tour of the unique Bordeaux wine process. - Our guide, Xavier, knows anything and everything about Bordeaux wines. From the moment you are with him he educates you thoroughly! It was such a pleasure having him as our guide. And, he also gave us a lot of insights on what to do and where to eat when back in Bordeaux. I had a delicious seafood lunch at Le Petit Commerce afterwards.

Saint-Emilion Day Trip - I loved this day trip from Bordeaux to Saint-Emilion. Our guide was amazing and had a lot of knowledge of the Bordeaux region and of the history of wine there. Saint-Emilion is charming and picturesque. We learned a lot about how wine is made when we were at the beautiful Château winery. If you are visiting Bordeaux, this is a perfect half day tour.

You learn all about Bordeaux wine- and much more - Tour guide, Rene, was incredibly well informed, pleasant and thoughtful. Knew the history of Bordeaux as well as the science of wine making. The four hours rushed by, I could have listened to him for hours. Mercedes vehicle very comfortable, visit to a winery and tasting with Vincent also informative. Both young men were charming, knew their subject and enthusiastic. A pleasure to meet such fine French men and learn so much about this beautiful region.

Nice visit to an enchanted village - Vincent was a great guide and knowledgeable about wines from Bordeaux, Saint-Emilion, and the surrounding area. I was happy to take a trip to Saint Emilion without having to drive, and it was nice to get a history lesson along the route. The winery we visited was great also. We learned about the entire process of making wine from the vines and their upkeep to pressing, to the steel vats, barrels, and finally into the bottles. The wine was good too.

Comprehensive and nicely paced food and wine tour. Excellent value for money. - Wonderful day with Xavier our guide. I visited with my boyfriend. We left Bordeaux at 0930 and returned approx 1630. We visited Saint emilion first and had an hour to wander the village. Then we visited Chateau La Rose des Vents winery for a tasting of 1 white/3 reds. We had a preprepared lunch which was delicious. Then we visited Chateau Grangey for a tasting of 4 reds and finally we visited Chateau Monlot for a tasting of 1 white/2 reds. The tour was nicely paced. Xavier kept the conversation going throughout and there was an enjoyable mix of learning and general chat. We purchased 6 wines from chateau grangey to have them shipped to Ireland. There were 8 of us in total with a great mix of backgrounds. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area!

An up and a down - Our guide, Emanuelle, has a delightful personality; and on the drive to St Emilion was a fount of information about the Bordeaux area, its wine makers and wine making. Her tour of the village of St Emilion was supremely informative. Sitting in the front of the van, we admired her smooth driving skill. We regret that the rest of our review does not match the remarks of previous reviewers. Yes, our Chateau Balestard La Tonnelle guide explained and showed us the processes of wine making very professionally. And true, the weather prevented us tasting wine on the terrace with views over the far countryside. But the large tasting room was bleak and unwelcoming. We moved swiftly from one wine to the next, with no plain biscuit (as in Britain) to prepare for the next tasting. And for the cost of this tour we would expect some refreshment after the wine tasting before the return drive to Bordeaux. Obviously not coffee before wine tasting, but certainly to end the Chateau visit, preferably with a small local pastry.
