Excellent, accomodating, knowledgable staff - Staff was very accommodating by letting us go on an earlier train ride instead of waiting almost 2 hours for our booked train ride. Real relief since I was worrying about getting back to the cruise ship in time.

Such good fun - The conductor was so great, this guy should do standup, his humour was dry, witty and personable. There were a few hiccups, like the mic not working on occasion and people running late, so he had to improvise and he was absolutely spot on. The firemen were excellent backup comedians. I had no idea that this steam railway was also a comedy club - I’d have paid the same to watch them at an open mic night. The railway was informative, and for history buffs this is definitely one for you.

Do the rum tour - It was fun. Not super exciting but definitely a lot of history and information. Would definitely do the rum tour next time.

It’s was very educational and fun. - Riding on the train and learning about how it was run in the past. The distillery was very interesting as well.

Pleasant outing - We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to St Nicholas Abbey. The train ride, while not long was very pleasant with friendly staff on board. Stunning views at the end The Abbey itself was interesting with a knowledgeable and helpful guide

Abbey Railway - Did just the railway with 6 friends based on write up of expansion. However with covid, expansion not completed and cost ($33 US pp) of overall experience was a disappointment. Simon is quite a poet and train staff friendly and knowledgable but short trip through property wasn't worth the cost and view of Bathsheba could be done via a walk (without local "craft" hawkers at turn around). We didn't do tour of house as we felt cost was prohibitive to view just the first floor of home (also read other reviews). We also would rather spend monies on actual purchase of rum rather than a shot glass pour for the overall cost! I was going to give just two stars but hope once expansion is completed the cost WON'T go up so value and experience would be more closely aligned.

Not worth the money - For the price $35 US dollars per person for the train ride and all you see is trees, forests and land, and you ride on it for 20 minutes, stop at the Cherry tree hill top (gorgeous breathtaking view mind) to buy local souvenirs from the locals then the engine turns around and goes back to staring point (bit of a rip off).

horrible excursion - We cancelled the trip after finding out that WE had to find our own way over to the excursion at the Abbey and railway. Viator didn't have any transportation from port to the abbey, and the abbey was 40 minutes away from the port! we would have to have taken a taxi and that would be our own cost! Poor planning on Viator's part! we ended up on an independent small tour that even better than the one planned. Very disappointing with this company!

Not worth it - Do to House tour… the railway is a joke. 9 mins up - 9 mins down. At the top there is a perfect view, BUT you can walk up instead (5 min) and save the money. Not worth it!
