Wonderful - The tour was nice, love the stories alone the ride. My favorite part was the rum tasting at the end. Wished we had more time at CherryHill fell just a little rushed.

The Little Engine That Could - As the heavy train struggled to ascend the steep grade, we patiently awaited the arrival of the rescue engine, which was dispatched to lend its power and expertise to assist us in overcoming this challenging section of the journey. The anticipation built as we listened for the distant sound of the approaching locomotive, knowing that soon we would have the extra strength needed to tackle the incline. Meanwhile, once we had successfully navigated the obstacles of the journey, we took the opportunity to turn the locomotive on the turntable, a fascinating process that showcased the intricate mechanics of railway operations. It was an impressive sight to see the massive engine pivot gracefully, preparing for its next leg of the journey. Afterward, we embarked on a delightful tour of the nearby distillery, where the rich aromas of aging spirits filled the air. We learned about the meticulous craftsmanship that goes into the distillation process, from the selection of the finest ingredients to the aging in oak barrels. The experience was both educational and enjoyable, offering us a deeper appreciation for the art of distilling and the unique flavors that can be produced. Overall, it was a day filled with memorable moments, both on the rails and off.

Cool experience! - The train ride was pretty cool. Didn’t expect. That beautiful view at the top. I got to assist turning the engine around when we got to the top. I got to blow the whistle. The only thing I would advise is to further explain the full tour when people buy the house tour and train. There is a rum tour before you even get to the house. I would say the entire thing lasted 1.5 hours and that was without getting to the gift shop. The staff was very nice!!! Made for a great experience!

Wonderful experience - The train ride was fun but the Main house was beautiful. Virginia is so knowledgeable to the plantation and has so many family ties to the house and the area.

Kind of a “BRummer” - A fairly good overall experience but a little disappointing in that, during the entire train ride, they talked up the “big rum tasting” that would occur at the end of the tour. Only to be let down when they limited everyone to ONE TINY sample of each of their two rums (a white and a dark). Then they move you on out. The train ride itself is ok and the tour guide does a great job explaining things. But it consists only of 10 minutes up and 10 minutes back with a 20 minute break at the top of the hill to take pics and buy souvenirs from a few local vendors. The other downer about this excursion is that it’s so far from the south side of the island, where most hotels are, that it cost us more money for transportation than it did for the tour itself, which wasn’t cheap either.
