The allure of the French Basque countryside had been calling my name for quite some time. As someone who thrives on the freedom of solo travel, the idea of exploring a region steeped in history and natural beauty was irresistible. I found myself in San Sebastian, a city that had already captured my heart, and decided it was time to venture beyond its borders. Our journey began with a scenic drive through the countryside, crossing the border into France via a mountain pass once used by smugglers.
