Trip of a lifetime - My husband and I have travelled to a lot of places in our our life. But this trip was the most magical we have ever been on. Vini organisation was incredible and everything was thought of. He is super smart and knew the best places to show us. His knowledge was amazing and he made the trip. He also speaks many languages so can translate where needed. We could not recommend him and his services anymore !

Our tour guide Vinicius Villare was excellent. - We were on 2 tours with Vini. One out of Manaus on part of the Tapajo river and the other tour was out of Alter De Chao. Vini was one of the best guides we had on all of our Brazilian tours. Very knowledgable, excellent English and very entertaining. We would highly recommend his tours.

Personal and Professional - and Amazing! - My husband and I were looking for something unique to do while cruising on the Amazon. My husband had visited before – so he also wanted to do something different. As luck would have it, we happened across Vinnie and he provided us with an excellent day trip. We liked him so much that we asked if he could provide more services – and he was incredible. Vinnie was able to provide us with an itinerary that took us from Santarem to Manaus, and then connected us with another fabulous guide in Rio. We swam with pink dolphins, had a private boat tour along the Amazon, saw a wonderful show at the opera, met incredible people and heard some touching stories of life in South America. I would highly recommend this young man's services! He is energetic, thoughtful and fun to be around. We count ourselves incredibly fortunate to have met him.

Alter de Chão Brazil - Our tour guide Vinicius Villare was excellent. He did a fabulous job explaining the flora, fauna, river, weather, and history of the Amazon and Tapajó rivers. His English is superior. He was contracted through Rafa Tours. While we found Rafa Tours lacking, Vinicius was a phenomenal guide. Rafa Tours books too many people on his tours, has last minute add on costs, and less than acceptable communication. If possible, I would try to secure Vinicius independently if at all possible as I’m sure you would have a far superior tour directly with him.

Santarem and Alter do chao - We first met Vini when we were in Santerem looking for a personalized river tour of the Lake Maica region. The first thing that impressed us about Vini was his excellent knowledge of the English language. (Throughout our entire stay in the Amazon, visiting many locations, Vini was the only person who we came across who could speak English). We experienced an amazing tour in and around Lake Maica, 3 hours in duration. Some days later we arrived in Alter do Chao and the first person we came across was Vini. He offered us various choices of what he could provide us with in Alter and together with 2 friends we decided on a personalized river tour taking us to a mainly deserted region along the Amazon where were introduced to a local family. We were then taken on a jungle walk and saw animal and bird life together with lot's of information relating to the habitat. Without the guide on this walk pointing out these things, we would only have seen a fraction of the wildlife. Following this we continued in our fast boat to a beautiful isolated beach on the Amazon where we had an amazing lunch followed by a swim in the Amazon River. Then back to Alter do Chao, a brilliant 6 hours, definitely the highlight of the whole Amazon adventure. You will not find a better travel guide in the Amazon region than Vini.!

The Good, Bad and MEH of the Amazon River Trip - We cruised on Oceania from Miami on 12-18-22 to 1-8-23 and am posting on our experience. Ship is nice and decorated like the Ritz - beautiful. Staff is wonderful and anxious to please, however for the most part, the staff of the Excursion Desk, Concierge and Dining Room reservations are the exception. Food was good but not exceptional. Definitely not what it used to be. We found the excursions offered were blase and not informative or scenic. Most stack you in a bus and drive by things pointing where they are. Exception is the Boi Boi Indian Festival, Meeting of the Waters (offered in several ports) and the trip to the Christ the Redeemer statue. One we should have taken was in Manaus to the REAL rainforest to one that goes to the Indian village. Heard rave reviews. The other 3 offered there go to the same place to do different things. The trip out and back were 1 1/4 each way. You will have a more pleasant return to your home if you pay for custom air. Most flights out begin at close to midnight and last time to depart ship is 9 a.m. We shortened that by doing custom and we were able to leave at 4 p,m, We did not encounter any place where the vendors did not take US currency with the exception of Rio. Also Rio was the only place where we could not communicate in English - or find a person who could translate for us easily.
