Highlights
  • Foret de Bebour - Route through the forests of Bébour and Bélouve
  • Foret de Belouve - At the end of the road, we will go to the sumptuous point of view on the circus of Salazie, since the Gite de Bélouve. This point of view will again be an opportunity to read this exceptional landscape: human and forest activities, marronnage, history of the island and its settlement.

After a snack of local products, our hike begins at this place, by a direct immersion in the primary forest. Tree ferns, orchids, “wood of colors”, we will discover the medicinal plants endemic to this unique environment.

The trails are flat, slightly hilly, (forest track or wooden footbridge), allowing us to move easily.

  • Trou de Fer - At the end of the road, the fabulous view of the Trou de Fer, a unique waterfall in the world, will be our reward! The return (loop circuit) will also be done by the forest, on simple trails.

Must-see for the curious and curious - Great time spent with my Guide Fantastic view of the snow piton, the Salazie circus, and of course the iron hole:-)) Stéphane is a well of science: fauna, flora, etc. Helpful in addition, he even walked me to Saint Pierre

Thanks thanks - Great ride, tiring but happy to have succeeded. Thank you to the ONF and to all those men who worked hard to develop this route and who allowed us to discover these wonderful landscapes. Lots of great encounters. THANKS

Very pretty - departure from the Hellbourg trail, despite the closed trail being written, this one was largely passable, apart from a slight landslide at one point but possible to pass!. Be careful for people who are afraid of heights, this can be difficult. The part of the balouve lodge at the iron hole, be careful, very muddy Arriving at the iron hole, you have to be patient as the mist comes and goes.
