Additional Information

Celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic movie Hocus Pocus. This cherished film starring Allison, Max, Dani, and the loquacious feline, Binx, where they must defeat the wicked Sanderson sisters, still enthralls us all, regardless of age. Enjoy a walk down memory lane as we share the actual filming locations and share unheard stories from the sets. We will also share exclusive insights about Hocus Pocus 2, which wasn’t filmed in Salem, thanks to our guide and Disney’s chosen Tour Guide for the movie, who possesses knowledge unattainable elsewhere.
Moreover, discover how Salem has made its mark on Hollywood in numerous other ways too. Over 100 television series, movies, documentaries, and reality shows have been filmed here in Salem. It all began with a silent film at the end of the 19th century, and it certainly didn’t end there. Each year brings more on-screen productions our way. While some contribute to our infamous history with witches and specters, many others diverge from this theme. There’s far more to Salem than just a dash of Hocus Pocus!

  • Our public walking tours can pose challenges for participants with mobility and accessibility concerns. Tours are 90 minutes long and about one mile in length. Each participant must be able to complete the one-mile tour within 90 minutes, providing for frequent stops to view sites and for information from the tour guide. As Salem is a historical city, there are narrow and uneven sidewalks, bricks, cobblestones, and stairs. During events and festivals (and particularly October), with crowds and street vendors, the streets can become difficult to navigate.

Fun Tour - If you are a movie buff check out this tour. It is more than just Hocus Pocus so be prepared for a more all encompassing movie tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and touring all the film locations was so much fun.

Worth the money! - Fun and knowledgeable experience. Interesting how many movies have roots to Salem. Worth a shot, a little lengthy in my opinion and could be condensed to about and hour. But, overall glad we did it.

Fantastic Hocus Pocus tour - It is an extensive walking tour of the city of Salem, seeing and hearing things, that normally might not. Yes, it is not 100% focused on Hocus Pocus, but it gives you a look at all the movies, you may not have realized we're filmed right here in Salem. 100% recommend to anyone looking for a Hocus Pocus tour.

Not the tour we were expecting - The picture advertising the Hocus Pocus house that Dani and Max lives in was a little deceiving when booking this tour. You don’t get to view the house even from the outside. The tour guide was knowledgeable but it definitely was not a Hocus Pocus tour. We did see a few places where the movie was filmed but the majority of the tour was about “other” movies. My granddaughter was definitely bored as she was anticipating much more information about the movie Hocus Pocus. We left the tour about halfway through.

Disappointed - The tour guide was very nice. They were on time. However, the older gentleman that we had definitely had movie in the production portion of the movies in mine was not for kids. It really didn’t deal with hocus-pocus, except for showing a couple of houses and we started with 15 people and we ended up with Eight, a bunch of people took off because they said it was stupid if you like the way movies are made then the tour is okay but I don’t really recommend it for children at all

So disappointing!! - I told our guide we had a handicapped person and a veteran with hearing lost before tour began. but he continuously parked at a very fast speed and left our person with the handicap rolling device behind, which meant at the end of the day with trying to keep up with him she was in horrible pain. And our person with hearing loss had to literally run to be able to keep up so he could try to hear.
