This location in Salem is a must-see! - Salem's pirate past is unmatched, although everyone primarily thinks of it as a witch city. You will be captivated by this museum and its personnel from the moment you enter, and you will leave feeling amazed and wanting your own eye patch.

A museum to discover - Very nice museum. Courteous staff. Interactive tour with characters. Staff on site to answer our questions. The treasure is worth the trip. Beautiful explanations on the conservation of treasures and means of discovery. About 60 minutes for the tour. Really worth the trip!!!

Real Pirates is the Real Deal! - I would hightly recommend this attraction! There were many artifacts from a REAL pirate ship that was formerly a slave ship before being captured by pirates. You see a short film first, introduced by a live "pirate" who was very entertaining, then walk through the exhibits at your own pace. There are also interactive stations, one where you can learn to tie knots. At the end, you can pose for pictures which are added to a background that you can download, included in the price of admission. It was great fun! This was by far the most interesting thing we visited in Salem! Definitely go here!

Go if you want to kill an hour - It was interesting to see the original cannons and loot they brought up. It’s a short tour but good for the price

Fun time in Salem - Observing the real artifacts from a real pirate ship was interesting and fun. My older children enjoyed learning the story of the men and woman from the ship’s history.
