- Valle del Cocora - Starting from Salento Quindío to enjoy a walk to enjoy the natural landscapes of palms, humid forest and pine to the mountain farm which has a beautiful viewpoint of the Cocora Valley canyon and from which you can see the foot of the Morro Gacho hill , then we will descend about 1 kilometer and continue to the Acaime Reserve or house of the hummingbirds where we will rest a bit and have the snack included in the activity, Aguapanela with cheese or its derivatives. Then we will return through the cloud forest passing 7 suspension bridges, the waterfall of the cloud forest and the passage through the gate that reveals the mountains full of palms.

This remarkable natural trail spans approximately 12 kilometers, winding through native cloud forests, featuring a forest waterfall, seven hanging bridges, a mountain farm, and the most stunning wax palm landscapes.
The journey begins in Salento, where a jeep transports participants to the starting point in the Cocora Valley. The hike commences through the palm forest, transitioning into a humid pine forest leading to the mountain farm, offering a breathtaking view of Morrogacho Hill. Following this, hikers descend to the Acaime Reserve, where they can enjoy a snack and observe the region’s hummingbirds. The tour continues through the cloud forest and across seven hanging bridges, ultimately returning to the Cocora Valley.

Challenging, peaceful, awe inspiring - We were in awe of Daniel’s passion and knowledge for the Cocora Valley and its nature and wildlife. He guided us through a 12k hike and was happy to go at whatever pace we needed. We enjoyed talking through the whole hike and came away having learned so much. The peaceful moments sitting watching the hummingbirds will be unforgettable. Would love to complete this circuit again one day.

Fantastic experience! It... - Fantastic experience! It was a 12km hike but totally worth it. Nicholas was very nice and explained everything really well! He showed us lots of different birds! It was worth the 1km hike to see the Hummingbirds on the side. Very beautiful to watch the gorgeous hummingbirds. Nicholas was also kind and carried some of our things in his backpack! He also brought us snack and was really nice to work with. We ended our tour with an amazing lunch and we 100% recommend this experience. Part of the hike is intense but totally worth the experience!😊

Excellent trip - We had a wonderful time with our guide, Daniel. Super knowledgeable and great conversations. We hiked about 5 hours total, saw several species of birds and fauna, etc. We had hiking boots and would recommend proper hiking footwear to do this trek, particularly for the water crossings and mud. The wax palms are impressive and the hummingbird point is worth the effort. Would recommend Daniel to be your guide. Highlight of our trip to Colombia

Indiana Jones Adventure - Cesar is the best tour guide that I have ever had. He made a very rainy, somewhat strenuous hike into an incredible Indiana Jones adventure that my family and I will never forget. I would highly recommend this tour if you want a vigorous hike with stunning scenery. Keep in mind that it is definitely a workout and you will absolutely get muddy. But, it's 100% worth it- especially if you're with Cesar!!! Also, you will sleep like a baby if/when you make it back to your hotel/airBnB.

Amazing views and birds galore - A long walk but totally worth it. All in all it took about 5 hours to do the whole loop. It starts off relatively flat in open valley before heading into denser jungle, a visit to the Hummingbird finca, and with a steep climb towards the end. We saw a lot of different species of birds, including our favourite, the Carriqui. The hummingbird finca is amazing, there really were hummingbirds all over the place. It’s the perfect checkpoint for a rest and a hot drink. Also plenty of beautiful viewpoints along the way.
The tour guide, Daniel, was really lovely and very knowledgeable about the wildlife, the history of the area and the wax palms. He also explained the different species of hummingbirds to us.
The walk can be tough at times, especially after rain when its mostly mud - there’s also a fair bit of uphill. Come prepared with good shoes, a rain jacket and plenty of water!

Good experience - A very good experience, the guide was very friendly and took the time to explain many things to us, the tour in general was according to the offer. The only negative point, the night before we tried to communicate to confirm the tour, no response, even the same day, zero communication, we had to go to the office to confirm

Changeling 12km hike but worth it for the views - This was a really good experience to do, and really worth doing the extra hour to see the hummingbirds up close. However this is a tough “hike” especially if it’s rained recently the whole area is very muddy. The loop started of flat in some muddy fields before going into the jungle where you walk along the river bank, climbing over some rocks and trees, once you head back from the hummingbirds it’s a good 2km uphill walk which can be very slippery when raining. Daniel was excellent and made sure we was going at our pace and didn’t mind we stopped a few times to catch our breath. worth it for the views

Great place, go with a different tour operator. - The guide and interpreter were very nice and knowledgable. Unfortunately, the tour operator was a mess -- they messaged an hour before our start time asking us to meet in Salento instead of picking us up at our hotel, as stated on the Viator ticket and confirmation. After some messages, they sent someone to pick us up, but then didn't communicate where we were going or what we were doing. Nor did they apparently do so to the guide and interpreter once we arrived, for they didn't know where we wanted to go. Eventually we made it, but the guide left us and the interpreter got lost. We traveled 2 hours going back and forth through rivers. All of this would have been fine had there been more communication.
