- Stonehenge - Stonehenge is the world’s most renowned prehistoric monument and a World Heritage site dating back nearly 5,000 years. Its construction remains a mystery, and we still don’t know how it was built or its purpose. It might have been a Druid temple, a Bronze Age cemetery, a lunar observatory, or even an astronomical clock. The surrounding landscape is equally fascinating, featuring vast prehistoric monuments like the Avenue and the Cursus, large earthwork enclosures such as Durrington Walls and the North Kite, and numerous burial mounds.
- The Roman Baths - Here, you can explore the Roman Baths with their natural hot springs, the Pump House, Abbey, Royal Crescent, The Circus, and the beautiful Pulteney Bridge. Today, Bath is a bustling city and a shopper’s paradise, offering everything from antique shops to designer boutiques. Set in the rolling countryside of southwest England, Bath is known for its natural hot springs and 18th-century Georgian architecture. The town’s buildings extensively use honey-colored Bath stone, including Bath Abbey, famous for its fan-vaulting, tower, and large stained-glass windows. The museum at the original Roman Baths site features The Great Bath, statues, and a temple.
We always plan the best route to maximize your time at each sightseeing spot you choose. We’ll include some hidden landmarks and local secrets to delight and entertain you.
- Lacock Abbey & Village - Lacock Abbey and the village of Lacock in Wiltshire offer a captivating journey through English history. Founded in the 13th century by Ela, Countess of Salisbury, Lacock Abbey was initially an Augustinian nunnery before being converted into a Tudor residence after the Dissolution. It’s famously associated with William Henry Fox Talbot, who took the first photographic negative here in 1835. The abbey’s picturesque cloisters have also been featured in the “Harry Potter” films.
Lacock Village is a beautifully preserved medieval settlement with charming timber-framed cottages, a 14th-century Tithe Barn, and St. Cyriac’s Church. The village’s timeless charm has made it a popular filming location for series like “Downton Abbey” and “Pride and Prejudice.” Both the abbey and village offer a rich, immersive experience for history enthusiasts, photography lovers, and film fans. Visiting Lacock is like stepping back in time to explore centuries of heritage.
