AMAZING - The most epic mountain and Machu pichu experience. Made great friends along the way. Staff are amazing and work so hard to make this experience worth every cent and then some. Amazing meals, guides, chefs and porters. Walter the chef made 5 star meals every single day. Juan assisted Walter everyday. They even made us a cake on our last breakfast and wrote happy honey moon on it for us. The chefs work incredibly hard to keep us fueled for the long stroll. We had the best tour guides on earth Brandon and Adolfo. Along the way we learned a lot about the culture. We shared many laughs and had lots of good conversation. Both very educational and willing you share their history with us. The leaders always made sure our familia was safe and happy. We couldn’t recommend this more to anyone. Really a life changing experience.

Difficult hike, but incredible experience - I had a truly incredible time during these 5 days. This was a tough trek, but so rewarding. Our guide was so knowledgable and passionate about his country. We were all captivated by the history and stories he told to us. I was a bit slow at times, but our guide Felix was so supportive and encouraging- the whole group was. We were a group of strangers, but we bonded a lot over the trek and I feel like I've made some life-long connections. The porters and chef were incredible, although sometimes it got a bit confusing which things I could eat (I have celiac), but Felix always went back to confirm which foods were safe for me, which I really appreciate. I also appreciated that Felix spoke several languages fluently, including Quechua. He was able to share personal experiences and his connection to Pacha Mama. The only things I would want to be aware of is: tipping - there are many mixed messages, so maybe check with the company beforehand. And at the end: you need to return your duffle bag, but we were kind of dumped on the side of the road at night and told to take our clothes in our hands so we could give the the bags back. In the chaos of that moment, I didn't get to say goodbye to my guide or my team. So I'd recommend having clear expectations at the end so you know what's going to happen. Those things didn't take away from the amazing experience that I shared with my team. I got to meet incredible people, sleep under the stars, share campfire stories, and even a warm jacuzzi. The highlight of the trip was probably sharing a moment of silence with my group when we arrived to one of the most beautiful views. Peru is an incredible country with so much beautiful nature. This trek was expensive, but I always felt safe and supported, which made it worth it for me.

Best trekking company ever - Adolfo & Brandon were the best guides! Absolutely best company you could ever trek with! They’re so organised, the logistics of getting us through the Andes mountains is insane, and there was not one fault. The food was 5 star, I was shocked with the quality and variety of the food, filing you up with energy everyday for your trek. We got to Humantay Lake before anyone else, it was just our alpaca group of people there for 30mins. Machu Picchu day we were the first ones there as well before the mass tourists arrived

Salkantay Trek 5D/5N - It is an experience that challenged us physically and mentally. My boyfriend had some problems with the altitude, but Felix, our guide, was always there to support us and look after his health. Felix is also a person with a lot of knowledge of the route and history, allowing us to be amazed by the scenery at every turn. The food was fantastic and they followed my dietary requests (no gluten, no dairy). The whole Alpaca team was always willing to help us and give us the best experience. They are people who love what they do, and it shows.

Difficult and enjoyable 😎 - Thoroughly enjoyed my time in the Peruvian Andes on the 5D 5N Salkantay Hike. The whole trip was extremely well planned and the team put the safety, comfort and enjoyment of the group first. From the food to the hot water bottles at night - everything was taken care of. Our tour guide, Feliz and his team were fantastic and I honestly don’t think they could have done more for us. I had pretty bad altitude sickness on Day 1 (the hardest day) and Feliz kept a close eye on me to make sure I was ok (which I was after 24h). It was an incredible experience and would thoroughly recommend Alpaca Expeditions. Thank you Fix and your team

Salkantay - I went for the Salkantay trek 5D/5N and I can only say that it was the highlight of my trip in Peru. Like once in a lifetime kind of experience. This couldn’t have been possible without the well organized team (the tour guide Felix, the cook Miguel Angel with the incredible and amazing food and the 3 porters Matilde Joel and Marcos who were impressive and who without them we couldn’t have done this trek) I can’t describe how helpful, nice and reactive was our tour guide Felix. On top of guiding us, he took care of us every step of the trek and made us feel safe whenever we needed as it is not an easy one. He shared so much of his knowledge with the group. All I can say is that without his professionalism we won’t have enjoyed the trek the way we did. Again without them, the trek won’t have been the same at all. I won’t forget this trip!

A great experience I’ll never forget! - I don’t have enough words to describe how much I enjoyed this trip! From the start at the lagoon to the night spent camping in the tents with a gorgeous view of the back of Machu Picchu and EVERYTHING in between - it was truly an experience I will never forget. We met some of the most amazing people; who, in only 5 days, went from being complete strangers to great friends. Our guide, Felix, was phenomenal and taught us so much about Incan history and helped us all along the way. He was always checking in on each person individually to make sure they were doing okay and helping in any way he could. His love for Peru, the Inca Trail & Salkantay is something that was very evident and inspiring throughout our trek. The trek itself can be very challenging, but Felix was encouraging and helped make it possible! The chef was amazing and made great food for our group! We did have some dietary restrictions including gluten free, veganism, and vegetarian - and they were extremely accommodating! The porters on our trek were fabulous and I’m so thankful to them and the horsemen for transporting our belongings. It was a really awesome experience that I will remember forever. I’m so thankful I was able to go on this trip.

A trip you will never forget! - Felix made this trip absolutely incredible and memorable. I have been on several guided tours and this was heads and shoulders above them all. Felix went above and beyond to make this a personal experience for everyone. I would recommend this trip to anyone looking for a challenge that you will never forget. Alpaca Expeditions is lucky to have such a knowledgeable and caring guide. I will absolutely return for another trip with Alpaca Expeditions in the near future. Thank you to Felix, the chef, and porters for everything!
