“Lost in the Wild Beauty of the Salt Flats and Great Salt Lake” - The Salt Flats and Great Salt Lake are absolutely breathtaking. Their vastness and untamed beauty make you feel as though you’ve stepped onto another planet. Our guide was incredibly friendly and enthusiastic, proactively taking numerous photos for us to capture the experience.

Amazing tour - Michelle was fantastic! I was thankful that the trip was not canceled even though I was the only one on the tour. One to one tour was incredible. Learned a lot about Salt Lake City history and enjoyed the scenery. Salt lake was beautiful and the experience of walking on the salt was fun.

Highly Recommend Southwest Adventure Tours - We had a small tour group which made it really easy to make friends with the other tourists. Our tour guide was great! She had interesting information to tell us along the way. She offered us little containers to collect a small amount of salt to take home. Because of the small group, she was able to offer us options for our time spent in each place. I would definitely recommend Southwest Adventure Tours while in SLC. We could not have asked for kinder people. I lost my wallet while out on the tour and our tour guide and the company went to great lengths to help me. You cannot beat that kind of care.

Great views but if you could drive yourself and want to save money, visit on own. - The views were amazing, and Cody the driver/guide was great. However, I am not sure if it was worth the price, though. In total, we saw 3 spots, and only one had a cover charge of $10. Obviously, it’s nice to have transportation, but for about $150 a person, I can’t seem to justify the price just because transportation was provided. The one thing that was nice (which was by chance)was that we were the only ones on the tour.

In disappointment of this tour and experience - I’m leaving this review with disappointment. I’ve had great experiences with previous tours before, so I was looking forward to this one, especially because Bonneville Salt Flats had been in my bucket list for a while—but I was wrong. There were three groups, including myself—(a family, a group of two girls, and me), but the tour guide focused almost exclusively on a family, making it feel like a private tour for them. At each stop, he stuck by them, discussing history and sights, while I felt completely ignored. Unlike past guides who introduced themselves, engaged with everyone, and ensured a good experience, this guide barely shared historical details and spent most of the time chatting with the family for the most part. The tour was advertised as a “Bonneville Salt Flats” tour, yet we spent no more than 20 minutes there. When I asked if we’d have more time to spend in the salt flats as we came back to the van rather “too early”, the guide said, “they’re hungry, so we’re moving on.” I wasn’t informed of this change, and it felt unfair to rush through the main highlight. When I requested 5–10 extra minutes, he reluctantly agreed, but knowing everyone was waiting, I came back to the van in a few minutes. Leaving so soon was devastating. The itinerary/time we were promised (as noted in this tour page) wasn’t followed at all. To make matters worse, customer service messaged me afterward, blaming me for being “late” in the morning when we were getting picked up by the tour guide even though I was in the lobby at the scheduled 7:45–8:00 AM window. I was there by 7:45 AM despite my earlier message saying I might not make it AT 7:45 AM, although I managed to be at the lobby by 7:45 AM if not 2-3 minutes past it. This I am sure, because I kept looking at the time as I was going down to the lobby. If the guide came early, why didn’t they call me? And why was it acceptable for them to arrive past 8 AM but not for me to be ready within that window of time? Even after trying to clarify the situation, their dismissive response felt condescending and left a bitter taste. I don’t hold anything against the tour company, but this experience was poorly handled. The guide’s lack of engagement and the customer service’s response made this trip a letdown.
