Tall geniuses guide them - Today we went to the salt flats with my partner, we had the pleasure of sharing the trip with martin and guille. The truth two geniuses, the trip became super enjoyable, worried that people do not join and gave us a super clear info (all that martin) then lead to the wheel a crack, super attentive to the road and always careful, time did not accompany but the truth we arrived jewel

Nordic organized a wonderful excursion for us, thank you Pablo (tour guide) and Nordic team - Nordic organized a wonderful excursion for us, we really enjoyed it! We left from Salta in the morning, a bus came to pick us up at the hotel at 7am and dropped us off at 6,30pm. Our tour guide Pablo was extremely nice, very knowledgable, very professional but also extremely caring (people sometimes get sick due to the altitude when going to the Salinas Grandes, so he was really looking after all of us). We stoped at a restaurant in Purmamarca for lunch which had a set pre-arranged price for a buffet, the food was good and the price was very fair (which is very appreciated because some tour companies sometimes take you to the more expensive restaurants). Driving around Jujuy, especially when going to the Salinas Grandes can be dangerous (quality of road and altitude sickness), so it is a good idea to do this with a tour operator. Before this excursion, my partner and I rented a car and spent 3 days driving South of Salta to Cafayate (Valles Calchaquies, Quebrada de las Conchas), we usually prefer driving ourselves to have a more intimate experience than joining a group. However, I think this excursion is best done through a tour operator.

A varied, interesting and... - A varied, interesting and long day. Plenty of stops to take photos. Excellent lunch (not included in the price). Our tour was booked as english-speaking and, although our guide was excellent, most of the commentary was in Spanish.

Stunning destination, long drive. - A long drive, but comfortable bus and helpful guide. We had to ask him for translation however, as the default was in Spanish. If it were advertised as such at least we would have known but it was supposed to be an ‘in English’ tour. Stunning locations, worth the long drive.

Salinas - Beautiful landscape, but lack of structure in the locations, especially in the Salinas, dirty bathrooms. Missing information that to enter Salinas only accept money and also to use the bathroom need to pay in cash.

Excursion Calchaquies: very disappointing - too many trips by minibus not to see anything extraordinary! - We chose this excursion on the advice of an Argentine Friend. Cost for two people: 126 €
On the plus side, the minibus picks you up from your hotel in SALTA.
Departure for us, the first to be searched: 6:45 in the morning. There will be 15 of us on this day.
Unpleasant surprise: old MERCEDES bus, with a diesel engine that has a worrying sound of tired rockers and unpleasant hints of diesel, especially when stationary.
Good surprise: the driver, named Raoul, was remarkable especially as we experienced dantesque weather making the mountain road dangerous.
Timing of the excursion: real departure from SALTA (after the Customers’ research tour): around 7:30 am - a “pee” stop after about 1h30 drive in an old space without any interest with men and women sanitary facilities (fees for women: 200 ARS) and all minibuses arriving at the same time .. imagine queuing in the cold for the toilet. Then a little hour later, another "tourist" stop to see the cacti in the plain: fair. Then a new stop for shopping “tourist”: the friendly sellers and good products but at the “tourist” price. In the same place, stop "pee" with brand new toilets .... But without water! In the process of being installed... - and finally arrived in CACHI at 11:30 am, that is after 3 hours drive and 1 hour of various stops. You are then told that we will pick you up at 2 pm for a direct return to SALTA stopping at the highest point of 3,300 m, unfortunately, this time in the clouds and no visibility more than 50 m!
Assessment: either for us, almost 11 hours of excursion - including: 7h of minibus! Guided tour without minibus: 30 minutes! 1 hour of “peeing” stop and shopping! 2h30 in the village of CACHI.
In the defence of NORDIC TRAVEL, the guide, in general, told many things along the way, often interesting and humorous, but in one language: SPANISH and... I don't speak SPANISH!
Persists and signs: too many minibuses especially on a large part of the journey, on poorly maintained roads ..
See instead: PUMAMARCA 👍

Nordic I do not recommend - The excursion is terrible! Last year I did the same excursion with another agency and nothing to see. We left Salta very early. We stopped for two minutes to take a photo at two points: Purmamarca and the highest point at 4170 Mts snv. We continued to the salt flat and paid the entrance fee $1500 and $200 to go to the bathroom. We were only there for 40 minutes and no type of explanation. We didn't see the waterholes and actually going there to take a photo seemed like a robbery to me. On the way back we stopped for two hours in Purmamarca and free time. If it weren't for Pablo (the guide) who made him very cool, I would have asked for my money back. We paid $42,000 each. My recommendation is that you do it with other agencies and ask carefully what is included.
