Great way to encounter some of Africa's animals - This an excellent day excursion from Dakar. It's well organized, the guides really know their animals and they keep you informed. The ride lasts for a couple of hours, there's some shade from the roof cover but arms and legs might need some sunblock. You'll need water. The ride is bumpy but not rough and the seats are comfortable enough. The animal encounters are really excellent, especially for a first time. We saw giraffe, Zebra, hippos, ostriches, antelope and more. Great photo opportunities. There's a decent snack bar at the end near the croc pool but you'll need to keep the monkeys off your snacks! There's a bathroom stop before after.

Senegal October 2023 - we were able to admire the animals in freedom with a friendly guide who can take photos for us when he has a better view than us.

Not a bad reserve - The reserve at Bandia was quite good more animals than I expected pleased about that because read the reviews and some people were saying they had not seen a lot.The only thing that I will do not do the lions they are over fed and just lay there not feeding ore climbing onto the vichiles as we were told have seen better in a zoo .

Bouncing around Bandia - Driving there was no picnic. I think the best time to go is from January to June. After June hard to see the animals and it’s rains a lot more. They were suppose to take credit cards, I would take cash just in case. Their card machine didn’t work. Weird cause it worked in the bar-restaurant, but not the ticket counter. That sucked as it cleaned me out. For 5 of us I paid about 115k CFA with car and tip. I paid for their land cruiser to take us around. The roads are sandy and lots of mud. Don’t be stingy. For the small cost of the taking their car, it’s the best choice. Also you must take a guide. I tipped them afterwards. Saw many animals; rhinos, ostriches, zebras, warthogs, monkeys, gazelles, many others I don’t know the name of. Lots of super old baobabs. One with skulls in it. I like the cruise through the park. The weather was cool in June. Rained a bit. Trees didn’t have a lot of leaves so it was easier to see the animals. Hit the gift shop and restaurant. Gift shop was nice, well stocked with cool stuff. The restaurant had a good assortment of items. A bit on the $ side. We shared 2 pizzas between 4 of us. Lots of birds to watch as you eat. It’s a private park that looks like it’s building more infrastructure. The guide spoke some English. All in all a good experience.
