Breathtaking and disturbing - The history of this place, is disturbing and should never be forgotten.....but the views are just breathtaking.....the document centre and tunnels is a must as well...thoroughly recommend it. Ps, if you have access to a car do the visit by yourself, rather than going through a tour. It's cheaper. We found it easily, just put the address in your Sat Nav. And the car park is a little further up the road.

A must do experience! - We did the Eagle’s Nest tour recently. We did the tour with Walter as our guide. He was funny and interesting and provided a lot of information about Eagle’s Nest. It was a fascinating tour and I enjoyed learning about it. The views from the top were breathtaking and we were lucky enough to be there on a beautiful sunny day! We then had lunch in Berchtesgaden which was a lovely picturesque town. I highly recommend doing this tour! You won’t regret it!!

I had wanted to visit the... - I had wanted to visit the Eagle’s nest for a long time and thankfully the day I chose was one of the few good weather days that week. Apart from a little bit of confusion boarding the bus up to the Eagle’s nest, it all worked very well and we went straight through to the lift and were at the top within a few minutes. The views were absolutely stunning, just so beautiful and the history behind it was of a great interest to me. I enjoyed a lovely cold beer up and could have happily sat in the sunshine, drinking beer and admiring the view for hours. It was a shame that the visit was limited to only 50 minutes but I understand that it is necessary to keep the flow of visitors moving. Definitely a trip highlight for me.

Great Tour!! - Great experience. Loved the tour…I would highly recommend this tour!! Only 1 complaint …. It was raining the day of the tour. The bus driver would not open the doors for everyone to board. Why?? The bus was empty, those of us standing outside were the ones that would be boarding. I understand you may have been given a specific time for everyone to board…but sometimes common sense must override your process. Why would you let everyone stand in the rain for 9 minutes???

This trip requires good visibility to fully experience this iconic sight. - The trip was conducted by Panorama The tour was well organised with an English speaking guide who provided a comprehensive level of information. The view at the Eagles Nest on the day we went was stunning with excellent visibility which is essential for those thinking of visiting. This was a half day tour and I felt there was a lot of pressure exerted to keep to time. There was limited time at the top to take in both the views and visit the restaurant at the top. I was also a little disappointed the trip did not go to the Information Centre in order to provide more information about Hitlers arrangements at the Eagles Nest and wider Obersalzburg area. Finally, the hour stop in Berchestaden provided a useful respite for lunch but not enough time to see the town. I feel for the cost of the trip this should have been a full day excursion hence 4 stars not 5.

Easy stress free - Great bus ride with a guide telling us about the area and things we passed. We stopped to have lunch in a cute area. The eagles nest was a great place to see and walk through with all the history there. We thought we could see more like any living quarters. The bus tour is the way to go everything is done for you, you just get on and off the buses.

Comments above. - Our tour was cancelled due to fears of avalanche. Have no issue with that concern, but were not notified. We showed up for the tour and found out that way.

Cancelled - It never happened as it was cancelled…the Viator platform allowed me to book the trip and we turned up early at the designated meeting place only to be told it was cancelled.
