- Fortress Hohensalzburg - Erected at the prime of the Prince-Archbishops of Salzburg with a length of 250 m (820 ft) and a width of 150 m (490 ft), it is one of the largest medieval castles in Europe. Hohensalzburg Fortress is situated at an altitude of 506 m above sea level.
The fortress began in 1077 under Archbishop Gebhard von Helfenstein.
It was used primarily for the defense of Salzburg and it’s inhabitants in case of war.

- Schloss Hellbrunn - Build in 1618 this schloss is famous for its wasserspile (watergames) in the grounds, which are a popular tourist attraction in the summer months. These games were conceived by Markus Sittikus, a man with a keen sense of humour, as a series of practical jokes to be performed on guests.
You can also visit the inside of this hunting lodge and learn a bit more of the way of life in the palace.
- Salzburg Cathedral - Saint Vergilius of Salzburg constructed the first cathedral possibly using the foundations of St. Rupert. It was completed in 774 A.D.
Over the years the cathedral of Salzburg was destroyed and rebuilt and renovated several times.
Today’s cathedral was completed in 1628 A.D.
Wolf Dietrich hired the Italian architect Vincenzo Scamozzi to prepare a plan for a comprehensive new Baroque building. Construction did not begin however until Wolf Dietrich’s successor, Markus Sittikus.
It was destroyed again during WW ll and later on rebuild in 1959.
In the cellar of the church you can still se some of the Roman ruins.

- Felsenreitschule - From 1926, the Felsenreitschule was used as an open-air theatre for performances of the Salzburg Festival. There is a guided tour of the theater also includes a peek of the big opera house and small opera house.

- Gaisberg - At a hight of 1207 meters, the Gaisberg gives you A bird eye view from Salzburg.
It’s a option if the the visibility at the Untersberg is poor.
- Leopoldskroner Weiher - Schloss Leopoldskron is a rococo palace and a national historic monument in Leopoldskron-Moos, a southern district of the city of Salzburg, Austria. The palace, and its surrounding seven hectare park, is located on the lake Leopoldskroner Weiher.
- Wasserspiele Hellbrunn - Hellbrunn Palace, famous for its trick water fountains,
- Untersbergbahn GmbH - With probably one of the best view of Salzburg, the Untersberg cable car will take you to the top of the most famous mountain in Salzburg.
Topping at 1972 meters, this is actually the border between Austria and Germany.
