  • Stift Nonnberg - Founded in 714 AD by Saint Rupert, the abbey has been continuously inhabited for over 1,300 years.

It is the oldest continuously operating convent in the German-speaking region.

  • Fortress Hohensalzburg - The fortress was originally constructed in 1077 by Archbishop Gebhard during the Investiture Controversy, a significant conflict between the papacy and the Holy Roman Emperor.
