- Admission to Mirabell Gardens is free, entry to the palace is not included. The gardens are not green or lit up in winter, so it’s best to book a morning tour or visit in spring, summer or autumn when the flowers are in bloom and there is no snow.
- Public squares in the Old Town can get very crowded during special events such as musical performances, festivals, etc.
- We’re not afraid of the sun and rain, so the tour will take place as planned, regardless of weather, so please check the forecast and dress appropriately.
- It is a walking tour, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes.

Great for all in one tour - Very interesting tour that explained much of the history of Salzburg. Our tour guide did not shy away from talking about WW2 and Salzburg’s role - I thought that was refreshing (many of these tours focus on bombing and rebuilding, but not necessarily the human toll). As four stops, this tour hit them all with nice rest breaks for photos.

Sensational Salzburg - Hans did a great job sharing the history about Salzburg, and he is a wonderful storyteller. We had 12 in our group and toured for 2.5hrs- covered all the listed spots. The Mirabell Gardens were stunning, and Hans also had great lunch recommendations.

Storytelling - The host, Norbert, is a real storyteller, loved his animated stories.
I would have loved to listen to music on the way, maybe stop a bit more at a musical performance, it will go great with the atmosphere.

Salzburg Old Town Walking Tour, Mozart, Mirabell Gardens - I think we could have done this tour on our own. Our tour guide got political on several occasions. Pace was very slow and comments were very obvious.

Disappointed - Was hard to understand guide…too crowded and he did not always stop to wait for us to all gather to speak. Would have liked more interesting information about history in the old town.

No Tour and No Refund - We showed up for the tour 20 minutes early to the exact spot as directed by Viator’s instructions. (We have a time stamped photo of the address to prove it). At 10 minutes before the tour, we reached out to the operator because the tour guide did not show up. The tour company got back to us 30 minutes after the tour had started and told us we were a “no show” and would not provide a refund. We were not the only ones abandoned by the tour group, there was another couple as well. We reached out to Viator and they told us there was nothing they could do. We have used Viator many times and recommended them to family and friends. Rasotravel-Vienna Tours is a terrible company and we are disappointed that Viator would not have their customer’s interest in mind.
