Great fun! - We loved our tour guide Alena for the Sound of Music tour! She made the whole bus have fun and we left with tons of fun facts we talked about later at dinner.

Great Experience - We had shocking weather, but the tour to Hallstadt and the sound of music tour were just great. Both tour guides were awesome. Drivers were smooth, and relaxing for a passenger. Definitely recommended.

You must do this tour!!! - Wow! The scenery up to Hallstatt is spectacular! Our guide Kylie was so good. We really enjoyed her commentary and her good nature! We loved Hallstatt and we are so glad we did this tour. My only criticism is that it is such a long day when you do both tours one after the other. The Sound of Music tour with David was great! It am a big fan of the movie and so I loved the tour! Even the singing on the bus was great!

Wonderful but world wind visits. - If you expecting to get that famous view of Hallstatt, don’t go on this tour. You’ll drive right past it. Seeing Hallstatt was beautiful and there is just enough time to visit the town and see a museum or two. If you plan on eating there, consider the many grab and go options to sav time. Our guide was very entertaining. If you do both tours, you’ll see the same lakes and route you see in the Hallstatt tour up until Wolfgang Lake. On the SoM tour, not a lot of time in Mondsee, but enough time to explore St Michael. Caden and Dragon were great guides and made it fun.

Great places. Tour can be better organised - Hallstatt is astoundingly beautiful. It’s a place one shouldn’t miss. The bus driver Sam was very helpful. Our guide was very informative. The sound of music tour was very thorough. Our guide Eric too was very informative. However, there is very little time between the 2 tours in the combo package. They barely give u any time for lunch, and u can’t eat in the bus either

It can improve. - The Sound of Music Tour was amazing, the guide was great , she sang and performed, gave many lovely details. Her energy was terrific, she was really helpful and polite. For her and Dragon 5 stars. On the other hand the Hallstatt tour was not that good. The tour could start earlier and include a walking tour around the town and then the two hours to go wherever we wanted. The amount of time was not enough to discover the whole town, the guide said that it was this way because the sound of music tour started at two. The time wasn't complete, because we lost 10 minutes, we had to wait for a couple of passengers who arrived late; and he asked us to arrive 5 minutes before 12 to return to Salzburg. The bus wasn't on time so we lost another 10 minutes. Hallstatt seemed as an Uber drive, even though the guide mentioned the directions and the things that we could visit, he just dropped us, pointed some directions and disappeared. Don't get me wrong, Hallstatt was beautiful, absolutely worth the visit, but the guide and itinerary not that much.

Fantastic tour, with a caveat - This tour included a trip to Hallstatt in the morning and the Sound of Music tour in the afternoon. Max was our guide in the former, and Sonja in the later. They were both incredible, and each tour was amazing in its own way. However, this package doesn’t quite work, since these tours are completely independent from one another and you should bear that in mind while booking them. In fact: 1) The bus first has to come back to Salzburg and you have to change to another bus for the second part of the tour. 2) Time for lunch is not accounted for! Please remember that and buy some food in Hallstatt before leaving, if you decide to go for the package. 3) A small portion of the trip is through the same route in both tours, so prepare yourself to see some of the same landmarks, stop in the same viewpoint, and hear some of the same jokes! Having said all that, I do think they are two great independent tours, but do not work as package.
