Worth the detour - Plan at least 3 days on site to visit the different sites. Everything can be done by scooter because the different places are not very far from each other.

Spectacular tour - Our tour guide Kate was wonderful. Her English was very good and she was so knowledgeable of the area. She was very accommodating of our requests. The car we used was very large and comfortable. We started on the longboat for a quick trip to the entrance of the Cave climb start. The climb up is pretty rocky and steep, but has plenty of areas to stop for a minute to catch your breath if needed. Wear comfortable shoes that are suitable for climbing rocky stairs and stones. The shrine itself is simply stunning with the sunlight shining down upon it. The lunch afterwards was delicious. The private tour allowed us to beat the big influx of people that followed. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone that can tolerate a mild/moderate amount of physical activity.

On elephant safari - Well organized and good control on access to the reserve. The surroundings are beautiful, we were even lucky to spot an eagle. The guide spoke excellent English. The elephants can be observed well from a distance in their habitat. The travel agency does not guarantee that wild animals will be spotted.

A great trip. Well worth the effort. - A great experience and well worth the effort. A reasonable level of fitness is needed to climb the mountain tracks that lead to to cave and the the most spectacular sight of the temple in the cave. Our guide was great and made sure we arrived at the optimum time when the sunlight was striking the temple. Loved every minute. Make sure to wear good walking shoes with good soles as the climb and descent can be challenging!

Beautiful enchanting giants - When the mother elephant came out with the baby elephant not far from the trucks 🐘 we had to move fast, to make sure we had our distance between her and also an elephant bathing in the river was beautiful to watch.

Sam Roi Yod Tour - We had a really great experience on this tour, would very highly recommend. Our guide was timely for pickup, spoke great English, and was extremely knowledgable. After pickup we drove to the nearby fisherman village which is along the route to the park. Throughout the drive our guide made sure to inform us on relevant facts along the area. We stopped at the village for a couple of minutes for some quick pictures and then asked if we could go check out a cool temple nearby which we later learned was next to a cemetery. This was clearly not part of the tour but our guide happily obliged and waited for us in the car. We arrived at the parking lot for the park and were again left for a couple minutes to look around and take pictures before. taking a short boat ride to a beach that would put us closer to the trail. (Note: we were told that in times when the seas are rough you will have to walk along the trail and up/around the mountain to get to the main trail head; this also applies for the way back) After arriving on the beach we got another couple of minutes to relax, take some more pics on the beach, etc before beginning the walk up to the cave. We got to the park at a really ideal time, I believe somewhere around 9AM or so, where there weren't too many people yet and we were fortunate enough to see two different groups of monkeys as soon as we arrived which was a great experience. (on the way back when the park was more full they were nowhere to be found). You can leave any heavy items/bags at the restaurant in the park before beginning the hike up to the cave. The hike up was fairly challenging as it is ascending for a lot of it. When we got to the cave the sun still wasn't fully hitting the temple. We went in January and around 10:30 was when the light started shining fully on it. Our guide made sure to take a lott of pictures for us at the temple and then let us walk around the cave on our own for a while. We made our way back down to the restaurant for lunch and then were again let go to enjoy ourselves on the beach. We didn't spend a whole lot of time on the beach before leaving the park but it was clear that if you did want to spend a lot of time there, the guide was happy to wait for you. The last part of the trip was a quick stop at one of the pineapple farms in the area. Although not a highlight of the trip, we didn't spend a lot of time there and it was at least cool to see. This was the best tour we took on our 2 week trip and again want to highlight how great our guide was. Would highly recommend.

Great day! - We had a great day trip to the Sam Roi Yod national park and Praya Nakhon cave. We were picked up by Bobby our guide - on time and driven to the park. On the way he explained things as we passed them. We took a boat to the beach where the climb starts to get to the cave. Once inside the cave the pavilion built there many years ago was amazing. Getting there early - between 10.30 and 11.30 ensured we saw it in the sunlight as it shines through the hole in the cave. Saw different types of monkey on the way back down. Had a lovely Thai lunch there before getting the boat back . We had chance to swim in the sea. All in all we had a good day and would recommend this trip.

Great tour but very expensive. - The tour guide was very informative and we were well taken care of. We realised later that the price we paid for this tour was too high compared to other operators.
