A day well spent in old Samarkand - The sights were really beautiful. Our guide, Sevinch, knew the history of her city very well. She kept the pace slow to match my walking difficulty. Much appreciated!

Exceptional tour - excellent guide - This was an excellent tour of all the main sites in Samarkand - a long day, but extremely informative, given the really in-depth knowledge of our guide. She spoke excellent english, and was able to jump ahead in the ticket lines to get our tickets so we didn't lose much time at all. The driver was very good, always waiting right on the spot.

Sevinch: Our Samarkand Super Guide! - Our tour guide, Sevinch, made our time in Samarkand incredible! She's not just friendly; she's like the best travel buddy you could ask for.
Sevinch didn't just show us the sights; she helped us find the coolest stuff in the local markets. Bargaining for souvenirs was a breeze with her.
Her stories about Samarkand's history, especially during Timur's time, were like stepping back in time. She really knows her stuff!
Plus, Sevinch's patience and willingness to answer our questions made us feel at home. Thanks to her, our Samarkand trip was unforgettable. We can't recommend her enough!

Tour the land of Timurudes-Uzbeks-Turks-Iranian with Sevinch, a happy tour guide - I came to Uzbekistan without much planning. But to my surprise, the tour team crafted a beautiful itinerary for one day in Samarkand. As a solo traveller, I was so happy to be accompanied by such happier & beautiful people starting from the tour guide, my taxi driver, the tour manager. This part of the world has surprised me in my first visit. The tour guide showed us around with enthusiasm & ease without rushing. We exchanged our journeys over a local lunch set-up that has been the highlight of this tour.
This is a personal record coming from a solo traveller.
Insightful! Happy! Delightful!

Fascinating historical tour of Samarkand - This was an excellent tour of Samarkand's wonderful historic sites. My guide, Mokhigul Nasirova, was very knowledgeable about the history of Uzbekistan and shared lots of interesting information . I was the only participant in the tour, as others were put off by the weather. Unfortunately the weather was very cold and the paths were icy - a dangerous time to be visiting! I had no choice of dates, since I was in Samarkand for a conference, but if I had a choice I would not visit in winter!

Great Guide, Terrible Organizer - 3 stars only for the exceptionally shoddy organizer. The guide, Zainab, was very good and played no part in this shambolic arrangement.
I booked this as a group tour. Late in the evening the day before the operator informed me that my pickup time changed from 9AM to 10:45AM. This was because he had another group doing this as a day trip from Tashkent and he combined them with my tour.
The group got in late. We started the tour at 11:40, took a lunch break right after the first stop and then pretty much rushed through all of the other attractions because the other group had to be dropped off at 5PM for their train.
The guide was knowledgeable, was proud of her history and heritage but had to rush through just to keep time.
All in all while I can recommend this tour but please check how the groups are combined.

Tour Operator shambolic but guide was great. - The guide was lovely and her English was excellent. She was very knowledgeable, friendly professional and tweaked the tour according to my interests.
For her and the driver alone this tour deserves 5 stars.
However, the tour operator really was not professional at all hence I gave 3 stars.
The tour was booked as an exclusive tour. However, on the day there was another traveller present despite me paying extra as a single traveller.
Also, because this other traveller was only arriving from Tashkent in the morning by train (and his train not getting in before 9am when my tour was scheduled to start), we started the tour 1 hour late at 10am.
I was not made aware of either of those changes and spent the whole hour waiting in the reception area of my hotel.
When I contacted the tour operator at 9:20 am they told me they would reach out to the guide and get back to me asap. After 20 more minutes, I called them again and was told the guide is on her way and will be there shortly. When I called just before 10am again they did not even pick up the phone anymore. Very unprofessional and if I had not have prepaid the tour, I would have just cancelled it at 9:40 am and gone elsewhere.
