- Gur Emir Mausoleum - See the magnificent mausoleum of Amir Temur. The entrance portal and the interior decoration are the highest points of the architectural development in Central Asia. Take great photos and explore the interior and the surrounding areas of Gur-Emir mausoleum.
- Registan - The heart of Samarkand, “the pearl of the orient” are the names of this magic place in Samarkand - Registan. We will explore the courtyards and the interiors of each madrasah. Great for photography.
- Shah-i-Zinda - The necropolis which means “dead city” is located in the hills of the ancient city Afrosiab - first settlement of Samarkand. This place is considered to be the workshop of the local architects and the craftsmen which is why it is a “gem of Samarkand”. We will see many mausoleums of Timurids family and the unique architectural style of each building.
- Bibi Khanym Mosque - The gigantic mosque built by Amir Temur is standing now near the oldest bazaars in the city - Siab bazar or market. The size of the building is impressive and is one of the biggest in Central Asia at that time. We will explore the interior courtyard and the two small mosques on the sides and the main mosque in the middle.

As good of a tour as I’ve ever had - If you’re considering a private tour of Samarkand, look no further than Jahon, who provided one of the most outstanding tour experiences I’ve had in visiting over 100 countries. From start to finish, Jahon exceeded expectations in every way. Not only did he cover all the iconic sights and landmarks of Samarkand with knowledge and passion, but he also brought a deep level of understanding and insight into the region’s political, social, and economic landscape. His perspective was informed and nuanced, providing context that went well beyond typical tour guide commentary. This added layer made each visit even more meaningful, showing Samarkand as a living, breathing intersection of history and modernity.

Samarkand - My tour of Samarkand exceeded all expectations! The city impressed with the grandeur of its historical monuments. Registan Square with its madrassas decorated with elegant mosaics is simply breathtaking. The Bibi-Khanum Mosque and the Gur-Emir Mausoleum are immersed in the era of the great Timur. The guide was well versed in the topic, sharing fascinating stories and legends. Lunch in a cozy restaurant with dishes of Uzbek cuisine added national flavor to our trip. A walk through Siab Bazaar allowed you to immerse yourself in the local culture and buy souvenirs. This tour is an ideal opportunity to get acquainted with the originality and greatness of Samarkand

Samarkand personal family tour - Excellent half day tour. Guide was easy to understand and quite knowledgeable about the history and architecture in Samarkand. He was also flexible in sites we wanted to see. Would highly recommend Odyl to anyone interested in a tour of Samarkand.

Very enjoyable - I really really enjoyed the tour and beautiful Samarkand. My guide Omid was very knowledgeable about history of Uzbekistan and was very friendly and helpful. He took me to many places and even negotiated the prices for souvenirs. I really recommend the tour and also Jahongir hotel.

Guided by a friend - We know Fayoz does this for a living, every day. Yet, it's impossible not to feel like you're being shown around by a friend who loves his home city. Fayoz took our input at every step and provided a perfect mixture or historical facts and spectacular stories. He managed to fit into just one day the sense that you really got to see a wonderful historical city. He's also a great companion during a meal. Strongly recommended!
