Description: - Samarkand: Transfer to the border (Dzhartepa checkpoint) with Tajikistan, located 40 km from Samarkand

  • Panjakent - - Panjikent: After crossing the border, Panjikent is 20 km away, one of the oldest cities and early centers of civilization in Central Asia.
  • Maschidi Markazii M.bashoro - - Muhammad Bashoro mosque: The main mosque of the city, built by skilled craftsmen with many handmade details. The ceiling and columns are particularly impressive. The minaret mimics the brickwork of the Samanid mausoleum in Bukhara
  • Panjakent Bazaar - - Central Bazaar: In front of the mosque is the Central Bazaar where you can experience local social life. Don’t forget to buy dried apricots, as they are special in Tajikistan
  • Nezhegon - - Mijgon Lake - Eyelashes (1): 1640 m, depth up to 20 m, and an area of 0.05 km2. The color of the water depends on the sunshine and the time of year; it can be turquoise, blue, or even purple.
  • The second of the seven lakes - - Soya Lake - Shade (2): 1701 m, an area of 0.1 km2. The lake is situated between high rocks, and its waters are in the shade almost all day. For this reason, it is called “Shade.” The color also depends on the time of year.
  • The third of the seven lakes - - Hushyor Lake - Watchful (3): 1771 m, an area of 0.23 km2. 400 meters from the second lake. There were once venomous snakes here, but now only the name remains. In clear weather, you can see schools of fish.
  • The fourth of the seven lakes - - Nofin Lake - Umbilical cord (4): 1820 m, an area of 0.48 km2. This is the largest village among the Seven Lakes villages, which are engaged in cattle breeding and are sometimes completely cut off from the center in winter.
  • Khurdak - - Hurdak Lake - Baby (5): 1870 m, and the smallest lake with an area of 0.025 km2.
  • The sixth of the seven lakes - - Marguzar Lake - (6): The largest and most beautiful lake in the Seven Lakes system. 2140 m and 2.7 km2. Petroglyphs of primitive people were found on the shore of Marguzor. In the Middle Ages, there was a mine of semi-precious stones near the lake.
  • Panjakent - - Lunch (extra) with picnic snacks (or return to the city for lunch in a local restaurant). Upon request, we can arrange lunch in a local house at the 4th lake
  • Departure.
  • Transfer to the border (Tajikistan - Uzbekistan)
    Meeting by our driver on the Uzbekistan side.
    Arrival in Samarkand (hotel/airport/railway station).
  • Samarkand - Protective hiking boots or sports shoes and long trousers are recommended, along with a cap or hat.
    Sunglasses could be helpful as well.
    A warm jacket is needed in early spring and late autumn seasons.
    There is no (or sometimes limited) mobile or Internet connection.
    Local cuisine is usually based on beef or lamb meat and may contain rice, wheat, or sorghum dough and many vegetables.
    Make sure to inform your driver if you prefer vegetarian cuisine or have any other preferences.
    After the 6th lake, there is no car route, and trekking to the 7th lake is 6 km. You can rent a donkey (extra payment).
