Shah-i-Zinda - The Shakhi-Zinda Ensemble, located on the southeastern mound of Afrosiab, dates back to the 9th century. This architectural complex features 44 tombs within more than 20 mausoleums. Shah E Zinda holds great significance as he was the first cousin of the Prophet Muhammad and bore a strong resemblance to him.

Hazrat Khizr Mosque - This historical monument from the mid-19th century is linked to the legendary Islamic prophet Khizr. Built on the site of an ancient mosque in 1855 (as per the mihrab inscription), it stands opposite the Shah-i-Zinda complex on a hill.

Bibi Khanym Mosque - Named after the wife of Temur and constructed between 1399-1404, the Bibi-Khanym Mosque is one of Central Asia’s most renowned architectural landmarks. Timur ordered its construction following his campaign in Delhi, and the mosque’s minaret was intended to be the tallest.

Bibi-Khanym Mausoleum - Situated across from the Bibi-Khanym Mosque, this unassuming 14th-century mausoleum houses five tombs and features beautiful interior painted stalactites.

Registan - Registan Square became the city’s central square after life in Afrosiab ceased. It has undergone several reconstructions over time and is now flanked by three madrasas: Ulugbek, Sherdor, and Tillokori.

Ruhabad Mosque - The Rukhabad Mausoleum, commissioned by Amir Timur in 1380, was built over the grave of the esteemed Islamic theologian and mystic Sheikh Burhaneddin Sagaradzhi.

Gur Emir Mausoleum - As a conqueror, few can match Tamerlane in terms of territory and legacy. Visitors can now pay their respects at his tomb in the beautifully restored Gur-Emir Mausoleum (1404-1405, 15-17 centuries) and admire the world’s largest piece of jade (greenstone).
