- Shah-i-Zinda - Shakhi Zinda is a cemetery for princes, with its name meaning “living king” in Persian. In the 7th century, Muhammad S.A.V.’s nephew, Abu Abbas, passed away during a battle, and his grave is located here, along with those of other princes and princesses.
- Monument to Mirzo Ulugbek - Mirzo Ulugbek, the grandson of Amir Temur, had a profound interest in astronomy. He primarily focused on science. The Ulugh Beg Observatory, built in the 1420s in modern-day Samarkand, Uzbekistan, was constructed under the Timurid Empire and was the last of its kind from the Islamic Medieval period. Notable Islamic astronomers who worked there include Jamshid al-Kashi, Ali Qushji, and Ulugh Beg himself. The observatory was destroyed in 1449 and rediscovered in 1908.
- Samarkand Textile Workshop - Here, visitors can explore silk and wool carpets. It offers an incredible experience watching artisans craft these silk carpets, which can take at least three months to complete. The carpets feature various patterns and images, resembling a museum.
- Siyob Bozor - This bazaar is renowned for Samarkand bread, dried fruits, and traditional sweets. Located next to the Bibi-Khanym Mosque, tourists can take photos with locals, taste national sweets, and purchase souvenirs.
- Registan - The three madrasahs of the Registan are the Ulugh Beg Madrasah (1417–1420), the Sher-Dor Madrasah (1619–1636), and the Tilya-Kori Madrasah (1646–1660). “Madrasah” is an Arabic term meaning school. Mirzo Ulugbek, the grandson of Amir Temur, was a king and scholar in the 15th century. His madrasah introduced new subjects such as mathematics, medicine, astronomy, and more.
