More than I expected - Great history on the Texas rangers. A lot more than it looks from the outside. Great little make up if a town really feel like you are in the times. The taxidermy was extensive and kept going

Fun place to eat and visit museum - Visited whilst wandering around central San Antonio. The museum is fun to walk around although it’s a bit corny at the beginning when they try to get you to have a photo taken in cowboy clothes - declined. After the museum we stayed for lunch in the saloon, they have a good choice of beers on tap and plenty of non-alcoholic alternatives. We both had the bison burger and fries - very large only just managed to eat them. Very tasty with plenty of fries. Good place for a meal stop as you walk around San Antonio

Make art with your collections - Loved that the owners of the saloon traded drinks for horns and rattlesnake rattles. In the day when those things only meant that you survived your life in the west, it brought closure and refreshment here. So many animals and stories of the why and who. Also unusual specimens were very cool to see. Texas Ranger side was also interesting in how they were needed, but mostly worked for free.

Something new - We have been to San Antonio several times and have always wanted to visit the Buckhorn saloon and the Texas Rangers museum. It was so much fun and loved learning about all who have served as a Texas Ranger.

Texas Rangers rule - This is a very fun, informative experience. It does not take long to go through and the displays and bios on the rangers are very interesting. If you do not like taxidermy animals this may not be for you but the information that accompanies the displays is quite good. This ia a good place to go if you want to learn about the rangers and this part of Texas it is worth your time.

Buckhorn Saloon & Texas Ranger Museum - San Antonio - We only toured the museum (did not eat at the saloon). Very interesting and extensive collection of animals. Not sure it’s worth the price of admission, but not a total loss. If you’re interested in Texas ranger history, this is the place to go. The prisoner sleeping in the jail cell is pretty funny.

Bucked Off - The Buckhorn was interesting. The museum leaves a little to be desired we found it more comical than anything, so we did have a good time. I thought the museum price was a little steep for what was offered. I guess they figured it was worth it because they have items from the Texas Rangers as well. We did not get food but my granddaughter did get an alcoholic beverage. She said she could barely tell there was an liquor in it. I will say they did have a unique gift shop.

Plan your time wisely - It's a Museum (4 ticket = $100). It has an Soloon style bar. No table service. Descent lunch food options. Order separate from the bar. No table service. Self serve soda fountain, water, utensils, and napkins. Lots of taxidermy. There is so much to see and do in San Antonio. Plan wisely.
