Do it you won't regret it - Danilo is excellent, a historian, totally recommended an unforgettable experience to find your African roots.

Dont go to Cartagena and not take this tour! - This town is the reason I chose to come to Colombia, as I wanted to see the modern-day embodiment of when preservation of roots and culture is prioritized, despite all attempts to obliterate. It did not disappoint!

Marvelous tour with a touch of Afro-Colombiano art, history and culture - My wife and I toured the historic village of Palenque with Victor, who’s a local resident. We had a wonderful time walking around the village with its amazing street art, meeting the locals, including a dance troupe with tons of energy (don’t be afraid if they ask you to join them!), an abuela with marvelous dulce-making skills, an herbalist who blessed us with nice gifts (no spoilers!) and a yummy lunch lovingly made by Victor’s sister. Throughout the tour, Victor also shared a balanced view of Palenque’s history and invited us into a conversation with him on what it means to be an Afro-Colombiano. We’ve been in Colombia for two weeks across the entire country from Bogota to the coffee region and now to the coast, and this tour was the perfect cap of our time here.

A superb people with rich culture - These beautiful people are so welcoming and rich with history! It was such an honor to be invited into the homes of elders and educated on their traditions and history of triumph! The Palenque are a close community who have held on to the culture of their ancestors through music, food, and rituals. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn about the culture. It’s not for those who want to visit a “tourist” attraction. Sophia is an amazing guide! Also the fish and rice is DELICIOUS!!!

Vibrant culture and strong traditions - Palenque is a very interesting place where the inhabitants have preserved their culture. They continue to live according to their traditions. Even their disputes are resolved in a very wise manner. It is worth visiting.

Unforgettable Experience - This tour is a must-do travelling to Cartagena. The Palenqueros have such a unique story and culture, and our tour guide Victor did an amazing job at sharing it with us. He was engaging and sparked thoughtful discussions as we experienced the beautiful people, food and community. We truly felt like family there and I would visit again in a heartbeat. From pick-up to drop-off we were well taken care of. I would recommend this tour to anyone and everyone. 10/10

Great tour. - This tour was well done and very informative. The history that I thought I knew, is not the REAL history. I would highly recommend this tour and Victor was wonderful!!!The lunch was also soooo good!!!!

Sofia is great and so is Palenque! A must see!! - Sofia is awesome! She is so knowledgeable and personable and really helped translate the information well. It was so impactful to hear the history of this beautiful city and the people who live there. She was made to do this and she is very proud of her culture and it shows!
