Awesome tour! - Our guide was Jose to this ancient settliement of around 3000BC. He gave a great commentary helping us to visualise the various pyramids, residential buildings , holy fire altar and the temples in their prime time. Despite that we encounter a strike at a toll station and a traffic jam cause by a road accident, our driver is able to handle the situation very well to ensure our safety and that we complete the tour on time. The lunch in Bolivar restaurant was very sumptuous. This is a great tour especially if you are into ancient civilisation and ruins. Highly recommended.

Unmissable visit in Peru - The guided tour of Caral’s civilization with Lener was an exceptional experience. His deep knowledge and passion for the history of this ancient civilization made every moment fascinating. Lener not only took us through the impressive archaeological sites, but also offered us a unique perspective on the life and culture of the ancient inhabitants of Caral. His ability to answer our questions and share really enriched the visit. I recommend this experience to anyone interested in history and archaeology; it is truly unforgettable.

Very interesting trip. - Was a fascinating journey up there and back. Our guide Jose was really knowledgeable about Caral and we stopped at a beach town on the way back for a late lunch which was delicious.

Caral day tour from Lima - I had a great time during this Tour and I met some wonderful people. I was the first to be picked up by our driver Juan and our translator Katya at 5:20am. They were punctual and the van was very comfortable. Our group was small, only 4 people total. We arrived at Caral around 10:30am. The last hour of the trip was off road. Once there we waited for a tour guide to become available. The tour was in Spanish but Katya was there to translate into English for us. The site is amazing to discover. After the tour we went to the city of Barranca for lunch. The restaurat and food were great. Then we made a quick stop at the Jesus Christ statue lookout. The trip back took about 4h30 because of traffic. Juan is an excellent and responsible driver and Katya is very nice and helpful. She’s not a tour guide so, there was no narration during the trip to, and back from Caral, but she made sure that the tour went smoothly. The tour operator was quick to answer my questions before the tour.

Authentic History - Visiting this recently uncovered archeological spot was a unique look into the oldest civilisation in the Americas. The site is still being explored, and the ruins had an authentic 'in progress ' feel. Don't expect finished structures; the site is simple, and few people have discovered this unique and mysterious ruin. Our guide Jose was excellent, providing lots of info on the site and many other insights into Peruvian culture.

Great guide, wonderful and significant archeological site - Jose is a gifted guide and wonderful, caring, considerate person. He was knowledgeable, patient and kind even when we weren't being attentive. He took us to a great place for lunch and took care to ensure everyone could order what they wanted. He was a master at scheduling even when the traffic was snarled and stopped. I also felt very safe with our driver Santos. If you want to see ancient ruins that are not swamped by tourists, go with Jose and join this tour. You won't be disappointed.

Secret City of Caral - Carlos was great. He picked us up on time and we made great time to Caral and back. The site is wonderful and there are constant excavations and exploring since it's a relatively new discovery (the site was discovered mid 1990s). The site was mostly free of tourists which makes it easier to appreciate. The one issue we had was this tour was supposed to go to Barranca but we ended up in Huacho instead for lunch.

Positive experience with negative inpact - The professionalism of Viator was commendable. However, the driver's behaviour was quite unprofessional. Despite the cold weather, he refused to turn on the heating and had the air conditioning on full blast with the windows open. This resulted in a stream of wind blowing into my face for three and a half hours, causing me to fall ill.

It would have been... - It would have been perfect had our guide spoken in English. He said he was substituting for an English-speaking guide who was sick. He assumed from my name that I could handle Spanish. I can do a little Spanish but I would have learned and spoken more had the guide been able to converse in English.

Better to travel by yourself if you want to go further north anyway - The team (guide and driver) were great. The excavations were interesting, but are a work in progress. Very long journey and high price for a 1.5 hour tour. We had to skip the Christo because of traffic. Snacks were not offered.
