Highly recommend - We booked our tour through the hotel, Arenal Observatory Lodge. Transportation was setup and approximately 10 min from hotel. It was a good course with mud, dips, bumps, and hills. We have a 13 and 11 yr old. They had a good time. We weren't there for much else besides a good time on the ATVs. Everyone was extremely pleasant and friendly. Would highly recommend. Recommend boots and pants.

ATV between the mountains - Excellent tour and your Andres guide makes you feel safe on every quadricycle. The tour is best done in the rainy season to have more mud that will give you more happiness.

Great time ATVing - Great time riding ATVs. It was my first time and our guide gave us great instructions to get started quickly. My son wanted to go faster but it was his only complaint. We got picked up at our hotel and dropped off, and our guide brought water for us which was very convenient. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area

Not worth it - The guide was extremely annoyed to be there which did not help to make the experience enjoyable. He did not explain much about the history or nature of the place like I saw in other comments. He rushed us in every stop and was talking on the phone on our way back not paying attention to the people that were following him. The tour in general is fun but I don’t feel like it was worth what I payed for.

Not for those with ATV experience. - The guide was reading on his phone quite a bit while leading our tour. This did not cause a big problem because the trails were easy and he was driving slow. We have an ATV at home and are all experienced drivers. The tour wasn’t very exciting. Might be good if you are new to ATVs. The mud mask at the river was fun though.

Do not recommend - During our time in La Fortuna we went on many tours. All of our other guides were kind and enthusiastic throughout our time there. Our Original Arenal ATV tours was the exception. From the beginning our guide was disinterested and lacked kindness and enthusiasm. He was on his cell phone for almost the entirety of the tour. When I got stuck 2 times he was irritated and annoyed while helping me. Also the speed of the tour was very slow. Lastly, I saw one worker shove a horse very hard and another worker hit a dog so hard with an ATV helmet that it yelped loudly. The dog was just standing in the group of tourists not doing anything. I was extremely disappointed by this tour company and would not recommend.

Don’t do a double - We (family of 4) decided to do 2 doubles, rather than each of us driving an ATV. They charged us $138 per person to do the double vs $105 each for single ATV. We should have each driven ourselves, it would have been a lot cheaper, plus we were stuck behind a super slow person so no adrenaline rush , plus the guide , zero personality, had the annoyed look the whole time .
