Very good hike at base of volcano - Our guide, Angelica, was very knowledgable and made the hike very interesting. She explained the history of the area and of the volcano, she pointed out interesting facts along the trail and took some photos for us. My wife and I both agreed that the eperience would not have been nearly as rich if we had just done the hike on our own. Also, tours like this are a very good opportunity to meet some interesting fellow-travelers and strike up conversations. Thank you, Angelica.

Raul and Hector are the best tour guides in Costa Rica! - We loved this hike with Raul and Hector! We met them both the day before during our Safari Boat Tour and asked for them again when we booked this tour through our hotel (The Springs) - thankfully they were available because they are both so great! Raul guided us on the long trail, stopping frequently to point out wildlife (owl, viper snake, insects, sloth, etc.) and to take photos. He was so knowledgeable and we highly recommend the hike with him as he really added to the experience. The grounds of the hike are so beautiful as well. Cannot recommend enough! Thank you Raul y Hector - hope to see you both soon!

Río celeste is a must see! - Eric and Héctor took my friends and I from la fortuna to Parque Nacional Volcán Tenorio to see Río Celeste and the beautiful waterfall! They are both very knowledgeable about Costa Rica and it’s history, funny and relatable. Lunch at the local restaurant was very tasty and fresh! We all really enjoyed ourselves! And Érica took so many great pictures of us!

Excellent experience! - Traveling with two young kids (6 & 2) can be an adventure no matter where you go, but our tour guide Randall made the experience excellent! We did the Arenal Volcano hike in the afternoon. Randall was very knowledgeable, funny, and just a natural storyteller that had the whole group at ease for the entire hike. He was able to spot several different animals, trees and foliage along the path, while telling the story of the eruptions at Arenal through the years. Our family highly recommends this tour and definitely ask for Randall. Pura Vida!

Our guide was Ray, he was... - Our guide was Ray, he was amazing. I went with my 4 and 7 year old children. They were able to keep up with the group. Ray was personable and very knowledgeable. The day we went it was raining so we didn't get a good view of the volcano. However, it was still a very lovely experience.

It’s a volcano… hike - This is a 1.6 mile hike (or longer if you take the longer trail). You should tour with a guide that can of get you insight on the history of the volcano as well as pointing out the various flora on the trail. There are not a lot of animals to be sighted on this walk. Our guide was informative but took frequent stops that seemed to make the whole experience longer than necessary. Wear good shoes for rocky and sometimes steep inclines and declines. Be ready for testing your balance if that is an issue. This is worth a morning or afternoon
