Adventurous ATV ride with an amazing view of the Arenal Valcano - We did the evening ATV tour around the Arenal Volcano. The pickup and drop was well coordinated. Once you reach the locations you have to sign a waiver. Then you are asked to pick your helmets. I recommend wearing a skull mask or a bandana as they don’t provide them and these helmets are used my many. I wore my hat and then the helmet on top of it and I was just fine. I do have power glasses too so no issues at all. Your shoes and pants/legs WILL get dirty with all the mud splashing (which is super fun) so wear accordingly. There was not much engine heat as I saw many wear shorts for the atv ride. Our guide was Andres and he was clear in his communication and was helpful to the riders whenever we got stuck. I even jammed my ATV once and he helped me reset it. The ATV were in good condition and our group didn’t complain of any problems with the ATV. We were a group of 7 bikes. Highly recommended as it takes you to the best views through the jungle around the volcano. This can definitely be done for a first timer too. It’s not a difficult terrain. They even make stops in the jungle to show you animals and even 2-3 photo stops with the best views of the valcano.

Fun! - I had a blast! Never ridden on an ATV by myself and got to have an amazing experience. After I got the hang of it felt comfortable riding around in rough terrain. Great guide. Saw monkeys and felt challenged!!

So fun! - Our guide Andres was so amazing! Andres was very knowledgeable about the area and made sure the experienced riders had fun, and the beginners felt safe! We learned about the area, saw Spider Monkey's, and did a volcanic lava mud mask. Highly recommend!

So much fun even with the... - So much fun even with the tournchal down pour. The hills and all the pools of water were so much fun. Andres was our guide was amazing! The only annoying part was the family that came with us that knew nothing about riding and were so slow and slowed us down. We had to stop multiple times to wait for them but no fault of Andres or the company you can't control or know who will be riding. It was money well spent. My 8 ,12, and 18 all had a great time.

Well worth the money if you don’t ATV often - The staff was exceptional, very kind and easy going. You basically do an ATV mud course on their property that has a great view of the volcano, and then go down to a river to hang out for bit and then come back and do a couple loops again. Tons of fun! I recommend going when it’s raining(clouds will block most of the mountain) and just accepting the mud.

Gender divide - FAVORITE activity for our boys - Very fun, a little scary for the mom in the group. But an absolute highlight for the dad and teen boys. Fun stop in a stream, exciting

Fun experience but could be done anywhere. - Communication was inconsistent prior to the tour. When we registered, it said to be there at 7:30. The reminder text said to be there at 7:50. We started on time right at 8a. The greeting was impersonal/unfriendly - “Everybody grab a helmet” and then walked off. Our daughter’s was too big and he said that was all they had. The explanation of how to drive the ATVs was well presented. We started with a simple loop to get a feel for the ATV It was a fun ride. You could go slow through the mud and stay clean(er) or take them fast and get dirty. Most of the ride was rough and through mud and dirt - felt like we were riding sideways at times. That’s what we were looking for. Some parts were on rocky roads and trails. We took a break midway to hike to a creek and put on a volcanic mud mask. We stopped to look at monkeys in the trees. It felt like the guide didn’t want to be there. He was checking the boxes for the tour. He was not enthusiastic or interested at all. Was on his phone most of the time. But we did everything the tour advertised. This activity advertises that ages 14+ can ride their own ATV. Don’t spend the extra $67 if your child has no experience driving one. After 5 minutes, our child had to ride with one of us. We enjoyed the activity. I’m not sure I would do it again, but I don’t regret having done it. The only thing unique to La Fortuna for this activity is stopping to see the monkeys. Other than that, this ride could be done anywhere.
