Duration: 12 hours
Cancellation: 1 day learn more
Highlights
  • Nahuel Huapi Lake - The road to San Martín winds through forests, crosses rivers and streams, and skirts several lakes (such as Nahuel Huapi, Correntoso, Espejo, Escondido, Villarino, Falkner and Machónico).
  • San Martin de los Andes - The road to San Martín winds through forests crosses rivers and streams, and skirts several lakes such as Nahuel Huapi, Correntoso, Espejo, Escondido, Villarino, Falkner and Machónico.

On the shores of these lake beaches we will stop several times at scenic lookout points to admire magnificent views. We will drive around Lake Lacar to San Martín de los Andes for lunch and to visit the town.

We will take the traditional route along the unpaved Paso Córdoba road, where the scenery is different from the first part of the trip; the forest will give way to beautiful and intriguing rock formations. Both of these routes meet up at Confluencia Traful where the magical landscape includes curious rock formations in the Enchanted Valley and the amazing Amphitheater.

We will follow the road alongside the river to its source in Lake Nahuel Huapi and then all the way back to Bariloche where our tour will end.

Recomendable. - It is a more than 400 kms journey, but it worth !! The travel itself is very enjoyable and every stop is fantastic. If you do not want to navigate this one day tour is one of the best we could find, and we did not mistake choosing it. We chose Vivencias Travels and everything was great.

Treķing along trails discovering unexpected places. Autumn is the best month to travel. - If there are beautiful places in Argentina, Bariloche, La.Angostura, San Martín de los Andes are unmissable places. Landscapes, gastronomy, human warmth. We should all know them.

San Martin de los Andes (extraordinary) - A city to rest and enjoy nature at its peak....good food, friendly people, prices for every pocket.

A very nice view - The view is spectacular. It is a walk to do calmly since the route is somewhat dangerous. It takes longer than planned.

Beautiful scenery but very tired. - Beautiful landscapes. Wonderful lakes. But far away. We stayed 3 hours in a Van to go and 3 more hours to return. Very fast stops for pictures on the lakes. San Martin de Los Andes is very beautiful on the edge of beautiful lake, but has nothing to do. The scenery is worth it, but if you have few days in Bariloche there are better tours.

Nice, but all day on a bus and just photo ops - This trip is nice and offers great views and the guide was really nice and knowledgeable. But here's the rub: you're basically in the bus for the whole day except for the 2 hours at San Martín DLA, stopping just to take pictures. So if you're the hiking type (or just not the sit-all-day type) I suggest you rent a car and drive there yourself.

Overpriced - My main problem was the price. When booking, it was €50 more expensive to select an English speaking tour, which I paid, but the tour was actually done in both Spanish and English. So the people on the tour who had selected Spanish paid €50 less for the exact same tour. Seems like a tourist rip off to me. Otherwise the tour was fine, but it was overpriced and I’d select a different operator next time who doesn’t overcharge tourists.

A bit monotonous as you spend a lot of time on the bus. - Much of the time is spent sitting traveling on the bus and stopping at some lakes for 10 minutes, this part is quite boring and monotonous, arriving in the small town of San Martín de los Andes, it improves because it is possible to explore the city for 2 hours.

Just one long bus journey and back - Positive - Hugo (guide) and Gerardo (driver). Friendly, approachable, knowledgeable, clearly proud and passionate about Argentina and the Bariloche/7 Lakes area. Areas to improve. Essentially, it becomes a long drive to San Martin and then return to Bariloche. A few occasional stops for toilet and photo ops. Sadly, they stop at areas that aren't even that beautiful which is a shame as we drove past some stunning scenery. And, of course, the stops are the same as all other tours and buses so long queues for toilets and taking pics (with everyone else in your pics!) Two hours in San Martin which is neither pretty not interesting is a bit of a waste. Hire a car or private driver - then you'll see the proper beauty rather than just whizz past everything in a bus.

The price is double the market. - Tripadvisor charges twice what they charge locally and did not honor the best price guarantee despite my complaint. I recommend buying it locally.
