Morning Magic: Embracing the Andes
As the sun rises over San Carlos de Bariloche, the crisp morning air invites you to embark on a journey through the majestic Andes. On December 7th, the day begins with clear skies and cool temperatures, perfect for an early start to explore the breathtaking landscapes of Tronador Hill and the Black Snowdrift. This scenic journey through the Andes’ valleys and glaciers is a must for nature enthusiasts. The tour departs at 9:00 AM, offering a full day of adventure until 5:00 PM. As you wind through the single-lane paths, the views of river valleys and ice glaciers unfold before you, each turn revealing a new wonder.
The excursion takes you past the Gutierrez and Mascardi lakes, where the Manso River guides you to the Tronador arm of Lake Mascardi. Here, a stop at the Isla Corazón Viewpoint offers a moment to soak in the serene beauty of the surroundings. As you continue to Pampa Linda, a valley embraced by towering peaks, the sense of awe is palpable. The journey culminates at the Ventisquero Negro viewpoint, where ancient ice formations tell tales of time immemorial. The base of Cerro Tronador, the highest peak in the National Park, awaits with its seven stunning glaciers. A short walk to a stream formed by meltwater provides a tranquil end to this unforgettable morning.
Reviewed on 2024-08-04: SILVINA HAS THE BEST HAIR IN THE COUNTY AND PURE GOOD WAVE:) - We did two tours with this agency: Cerro Tronador and Victoria Island, but Victoria Island is operated by CAU CAU, another company, so in this review I will only talk about Tronador. In the office we were attended by Silvina and she was very nice with us!! We explain all the details and itineraries very patiently. On the day of the tour Walter picked us up and although at first he seemed serious and reserved, he ended up being an extraordinary tour guide. All the way he explained about flora, fauna and history of the region with a hidden sense of humor, but very good. Unfortunately we had very bad weather, it didn’t stop raining, but still we were always allowed to get off calmly and take all the photos we wanted. The road is long, but it’s worth it. The Tronador touched us extremely snowy and was a magical experience, especially for us who come from a warm place and are not used to snow. We had plenty of time to explore and even skateboard!! The shelter where we stop to eat is quite expensive and nothing extraordinary the food, but I guess it is normal in such a tourist place. The portions are good. The return playlist was 10, haha. I think in general it was one of the excursions we enjoyed the most in Bariloche. Thank you to Silvina and Walter for giving us such a memorable day, for their kindness and good vibe!!:)
Afternoon Adventures: Discovering Victoria Island
As the afternoon sun casts its golden glow over Bariloche, it’s time to set sail for Victoria Island. On both December 7th and 8th, from 12:30 PM to 7:30 PM, you can embark on a journey to discover the enchanting landscapes and the mystical Arrayanes Forest. The tour begins at Puerto Pañuelo in Llao-Llao, where a scenic 30-minute boat ride transports you to Puerto Anchorena, the heart of Victoria Island.
Every corner of the island is a testament to nature’s artistry, with stunning landscapes and a rich history waiting to be explored. Whether you choose a guided walk or venture on your own along marked trails, the island offers a myriad of experiences. From the Ex Vivero National Trail to the Interpretation Path “Antonio Pargade,” each path unveils a new facet of this magical place. The highlight of the excursion is the Los Arrayanes National Park, where a boardwalk path leads you through a dense forest of Arrayán trees, their unique characteristics creating a truly magical atmosphere.

Evening Elegance: Dining and Culture
As the day winds down, Bariloche’s vibrant culture comes alive. With the sun setting at 21:08 on December 7th and 21:09 on December 8th, there’s ample time to explore the city’s culinary delights and cultural offerings. The cool evening air, with temperatures dropping to around 32.8°F on the 7th and 39.5°F on the 8th, provides the perfect backdrop for a cozy dinner at one of Bariloche’s renowned restaurants.
Indulge in the local cuisine, where flavors are as rich and diverse as the landscapes you’ve explored. From traditional Argentine dishes to international fare, the city’s dining scene caters to every palate. As you savor your meal, the stories of the day’s adventures linger, each bite a reminder of the beauty and wonder of Bariloche.
