  • Mirador del Limay - Your guide will provide commentary on the natural and historical features of the region and the Limay River. We’ll make a brief stop at this viewpoint to take in the scenery and snap some photos.
  • Huemul - Travel along the northern shore of the lake’s Huemul arm, passing Las Flores and Puerto Manzano, with a short stop in the mountain town of Villa La Angostura.
  • Villa La Angostura - Stretch your legs and enjoy the fresh mountain air before continuing on the provincial route. (You can buy snacks at several stops along the way or bring your own food.)
  • Route of the Seven Lakes - Follow the picturesque Road of the Seven Lakes, taking in the stunning views of lakes Espejo, Correntoso, Escondido, Villarino, Falkner, and Machonico before arriving at the shores of Lácar Lake (Lago Lácar), where the charming town of San Martín de los Andes is nestled between high mountain peaks.
  • Mirador Lago Espejo - Lago Espejo is a glacial lake named for its clear, calm waters that reflect the landscape like a mirror. The lake is fed by streams carrying snow and melted ice from nearby mountains. We’ll make a brief stop at this viewpoint to admire the view and take photos.
  • Lago Correntoso - This bluish-green lake spans approximately 27 km², framed by a stunning mountain range, and has warmer waters than Nahuel Huapi. We’ll make a brief stop at this viewpoint to admire the view and take photos.
  • Mirador Lago Escondido - Lago Escondido is the smallest lake on the route, surrounded by a dense Andean-Patagonian forest, making it hard to spot but rewarding to see. We’ll make a brief stop at this viewpoint to admire the view and take photos.
  • Mirador Del Lago Villarino - Protected by Nahuel Huapi National Park, this lake is home to various trout species, attracting many fly fishing enthusiasts. Named after Spanish sailor and explorer Basilio Villarino, who explored the Limay River basin in the 18th century. We’ll make a brief stop at this viewpoint to admire the view and take photos.
  • Mirador Lago Falkner - Surrounded by the Falkner, del Buque, and Alto hills, its shores are mostly covered by forests of lengas, coihues, and other beeches. Named in honor of Thomas Falkner, an 18th-century Jesuit missionary priest of English origin. We’ll make a brief stop at this viewpoint to admire the view and take photos.
  • Mirador Lago Machónico - Popular for water sports in the summer, tourists can navigate this lake with kayaks and canoes. Machónico means “Place of the Páncora” in the Mapuche language (the “Páncora” is a type of freshwater crab). We’ll make a brief stop at this viewpoint to admire the view and take photos.
  • Lake Lacar Waterfront - The city of San Martín de los Andes is situated on the banks of the Lácar River.
  • San Martin de los Andes - Spend about three hours at your leisure in San Martín, including time to buy lunch at one of the many restaurants (own expense). Stroll through the streets lined with art and craft shops, surrounded by nature and fresh air. Admire the charming character of San Martín and the Swiss Alpine architectural style of its wooden cabins and quaint shops.

Beautiful day trip - The scenery was absolutely spectacular. The tour was a great small group experience. I was the only one in the group who did not speak Spanish so the guide, Matias, did a great job of translating for me so that I wouldn’t miss anything.

7 Lakes route stunning- tour company disappointing - The 7 Lakes area is stunning and nothing can take away from its beauty and we loved being there. The tour, however, was spoiled by us being assigned the back seats in a small bus that had very limited window viewing area. Also, the back of the bus was extremely uncomfortable. On the return journey, the rows in front of us were able to recline their seats, effectively eliminating our viewing area. The back row of this type of bus should not be sold or be sold at a reduced rate. It would seem that back-seat passengers on previous tours had made similar complaints to the guide. We were determined to enjoy the day and this delightful part of the world did deliver that. It’s a pity the tour company didn’t value all its customers equally.

Tour is not as they advertise - Good things first - the tour itself was beautiful- the lakes, the mountains and the town of San Martin was incredible but that has nothing to do with the tour. When I booked the tour through an operator I clearly asked her if it has an English speaking guide and she said yes and charged me $100 extra for the two of us - the guide was all Spanish speaking and doesn’t interact with anyone and the driver too - so rest assured when I get home I will call them to ask for a refund! If you can’t get an English guide don’t charge extra then ! I should get a full refund if you ask me !
