- 2261 Avenida De La Playa - Guests will participate in a 90-minute, fully-guided tour of the La Jolla Ecological Reserve and the famous Seven Sea Caves. Our tour guides will lead you through the reserve and give you insider knowledge of the area, including local history, marine life, and conservation efforts.
All guests must arrive 30 minutes prior for check-in. Our staff will get each guest ready inside our shop. Once outfitted properly, guests will walk down to the beach, in which our staff will provide an overview of what they will be doing along with best practices / tutorial and a safety briefing for the experience.
This activity is suitable for ages 5 and up and does not require any prior experience.

The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.
This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales!
Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla’s Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove.
Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour.
Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.
- Children must be at least 5 years old and accompanied by an adult
- Refunds will not be issued if tour/activity is missed due to late or non-arrival of guests
- Dress code is swim wear or beach attire (anything that can get wet)
- Kayak weight limit is 425 lbs
- Once you have purchased your voucher, please contact suppliers booking office directly at the number on your voucher to confirm the reservation. Failure to do so may result in not being able to participate in activity
