Join the guide and group at Old Adobe Chapel, renowned for its role in preserving Old Town San Diego, as highlighted in an 1884 book. Proceed to explore one of Southern California’s most haunted residences, notable for its unique architecture and construction materials.
After appreciating some Victorian architecture, the tour will pass by the original site of the Presidio and Mission, established during the Spanish settlement of California. Marvel at the oldest 18th-century building in the region and discover the history of the indigenous tribes who inhabited the area for millennia.
Returning to town, explore authentic Mexican crafts (no subpar souvenirs here!), visit a century-old Catholic church that traces its roots to the original Mission, and take a leisurely walk through a historic cemetery with graves from the 1850s. The tour concludes at a local Tequileria, where participants can learn about various types of tequila, enjoy a tasting or choose another beverage, and savor gourmet tacos.
- Guests should be comfortable walking 2 miles - comfortable shoes are a must!
- Water in reusable container, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses are all recommended.
- Our tortilla tasting happens at the beginning of the tour and our tacos and tequila are at the end (saving the best for last!). Please take that into consideration when planning pre-tour meals (have enough to fuel your walk but not enough to spoil your tacos!).
- There is plenty of free parking in Old Town but can be hard to find on weekends. Please plan ahead.
