Our Sunset Cruise departs from Mission Bay in beautiful San Diego, CA. Our friendly and experienced crew provides you with sightings of beautiful whales & dolphins, and an educational experience where you can learn about these animals that visit the ocean near San Diego harbor. This is topped off with our beautiful San Diego sunset.
Typically our trips are 2.5-3 hours in length, but time can vary based on seasons and locations of sightings.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Minimum Drinking age is 21 Years
- Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your departure time
- Kids Go Free October: If you have more than one child traveling per adult, please pay operator directly for additional children at time of travel

Magical experience - Such a magical experience. Saw a pod of hundreds of dolphins with the sunset. Unfortunately didn’t see any whales, but the crew did eveything to make sure we saw something and chased the dolphins so far out! It was amazing

Great Tour - Great tour friendly and welcoming crew that took the time to find the dolphins and give us a good amount of time to see them.
Also got told about landmarks and history of the Californian coast.

An unforgettable experience - An unforgettable experience. We could see over 200 bottlenose dolphins and 2 beautiful humphrey whales. We also enjoyed the sunset. Wonderful.

Great experience on the water! - This whale watch was very well run and the crew was extremely gregarious and engaging. They were so fun, especially Melissa and Vanessa, who were friendly and willing to speak with us at length!
Also amazing was the fact that we had an Orca sighting (pod of 6) on our cruise. What a treat!

Don’t miss this! - Do not miss this! The crew was amazing, the trip was well organized, and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable being a marine biologist herself. They never gave up and we were richly rewarded by seeing a pair of humpbacks! This was an incredible experience.

We saw a huge pod of... - We saw a huge pod of dolphin. Maybe 250-300. It was fun to see. The staff was friendly and d knowledgeable.

Lovely crew but no wildlife to be seen - Was so looking forward to this boat trip and whilst I suspected the whales might not always show up, I thought the dolphins would be a given.
Sadly literally nothing showed up for us. So I can’t help but be disappointed but there isn’t much the crew can do about that. That’s the chance you take with nature.
Just worth managing your expectation before you go - you might only get a nice hot chocolate and sunset.
As you head out of the bay it’s quite rough and the front of the boat gets drenched so bear this in mind - you might want to avoid this area until you hit calmer water unless you’re in full waterproof gear. A big thank you to Cole for seeing me get hit by a huge wave and coming out to help me get dried off inside.

Nice staff, barely no sightings - I would have rated it higher, though we only go to see the back of a humpback whale.
The naturalist was great though we wish she would not listen to people on the boat stating they had sightings, and follow their own instincts. We wasted 34 mins in an area where the person next to us stays ahead saw a spout and nothing happened.

Wait and pay - Made customers wait in line twice( not very thoughtful and steals customers time too).. First one hour before tour leaves to check in. then we needed to wait in a different line for a whole hour (standing ! ) to board the boat.
Also even tried to sell priority tickets to board the boat - which gets you on board 5 minutes earlier 😂.
On the other hand accepts latecomers running to the boat the minute it wants to depart ..
And then also offered pictures taking while on tour for another $20.
Total rip-off!
Never experienced anything like that before anywhere else.

Disappointed for the price just to see dolphins - Why do they have to mention it as dolphin and whale watching when they clearly know it is going to be only dolphins? I saw few other trips which mentioned only dolphin watching but I got this one thinking paying extra $20/person is worth because this trip has both dolphins and whales watching.
