Additional Information

This listed tour will guide you through the vibrant local culture of Tijuana, its diverse scene, and its inhabitants. On this outing, you’ll get to experience Tijuana like a local in just a few hours. Located 30 minutes away from Downtown San Diego, California, Tijuana is home to 2.3 million people, about 75% of whom are foreigners. However, everyone is welcomed in Tijuana! Literally, Tijuana was built by outsiders and has flourished thanks to tourism since the prohibition era. The city presents an incredible food and craft beer scene unlike any other Mexican city. This awakening of food and craft beer culture has driven a cultural revival throughout Baja region. Tijuana has been a stepping stone for many people in pursuit of the American dream, whether by legal or illegal border crossings into the USA. This results in people being left behind, forcing them to settle down here or go back to their original homes. In most cases, they establish their new lives here.

Going on tour solo - I can't say enough about our tour guide Sara, she is friendly, made you feel comfortable, interacted with everyone on the tour. The tour itself was great, I'm glad that I went !! I was a little consider going on my own , but Sara changed that for me. I felt that I was in good hands with her. Thank you Sara.

A great day of introduction to Tijuana - An excellent day trip in Tijuana with many interesting stops. Organization was great and everything went smoothly. The combination of historical overview of the Tijuana phenomenon and popular things was perfect. As it was a group of only four we had a lot of time to go after our interests and our knowledgeable guide Victor answered all of our questions and had a great sense of humor to match. As I was especially interested in food, he helped me find some special Mexican peppers at the food market and gave us a lot of information of Tijuana as a place where Caesar Salad was born, local restaurants and other food places.

Easy introduction to the city - Had a great time. Good communication between meet-up who walked us to the border and guide who picked us up on the other side. Humberto was a wealth of knowledge about the history of the city

A great experience - Our tour guide, Sara Newborn was everything amazing. She was professional, yet interpersonalable. She gave us insight on certain landmarks and kept us entertained. She answered all our questions as well. We had the opportunity to learn some history abouy Tijuana and learn the backstory to the arch, taste all types of authentic candy, tequila and tacos. This experience was definitely amazing. I would recommend this trip. Just a lil advise, wear very comfortable shoes. There's alot of walking.

Taste of tijuana - Diego was a great tour guide. The tacos and tequila tasting was well organized. The only complaint was ground transportation was misleading. Being Escorted accross border in a bus would have been appreciated. We were dropped off and waited 21/2 hours on a line . Sort of a downer on what was an awesome tour
