Big Bus tours at San Francisco with Matt P - Got the Big Bus tour in San Francisco and is was very good. We use big bus tours everywhere we go and they never disappoint. We booked our tour from Matt P at Fisherman’s wharf and he was great. If your in San Francisco at Fisherman’s Wharf go see him down by the piers, he’ll look after you.

Everything is perfect - Shayla&Arnel are the best at the visitor center. Also the bus driver Jamal is kind. They are all friendly. Thank you for giving me good memory.

Nice tour, Disreputable Driver - I have taken several Big Bus Tours (New York, Dublin, Paris, London, among others) and have found them to be enjoyable. As in other experiences, the buses were clean and the audio jacks functioned as expected. The recorded audio was adequate and included some interesting facts. My wife and I took a weekend trip to San Francisco and while we had visited before, we’d never taken this tour. Stop #6 was conveniently located next to our hotel. We bought our tickets from the driver, boarded and enjoyed the trip across the Golden Gate Bridge and got off at Fisherman’s Wharf for lunch. We boarded another bus after lunch and continued the trip, intending to get off at Stop #6 at our hotel (approximately 3:15pm, 9/14) . We were seated on the top deck. As we arrived at our stop, the narration announced the arrival (which I was prepared for), my group of 3 stood and made our way down the stairs without delay. The bus was in a traffic lane and had not stopped at a curb, as it had for every previous stop. I stepped up to the front of the bus and waited for the driver to open the door. The bus was not in motion and as the 3 of us stood to exit, the driver began driving. I initially thought he was pulling to an open piece of sidewalk where we could safely exit, but that I had missed the stop and needed to sit down. I refused to sit and asked if he could open the door and allow us to get off. He refused and threatened to call the police and said he wasn’t responsible for my safety. A brief argument followed and he eventually stopped about 1/3 of a mile from our stop and allowed us off the bus. NOTE: 1). the drivers have a monitor that shows the top deck of the bus and they can see passengers standing and making their way down the stairs to exit - if they were paying attention. He clearly was not and was too obstinate to allow us to exit. 2). There are instructions that tell you to remain seated and not move around while the bus is in motion. I followed this instruction and didn’t leave my seat until the bus was stopped, although since the bus was still in a traffic lane, there may have been a delay of less than 10 seconds. CONCLUSION: I won’t let the behavior of this one driver discourage me from taking other Big Bus tours. In fact, I plan on taking one in Edinburgh with my daughter later this year. I am posting this primarily hoping the company will take note, and if they want to credit me for the tour in Edinburgh, I’ll happily accept. Safe travels.

Not worth it - We've been on many Big Bus tours in other cities (London, Paris, Chicago, and DC) but found this one incredibly disappointing. The audio commentary was terrible, and mostly focused on dated pop culture references as opposed to actual history. Stops are not well organized or marked. The drivers were incredibly rude and did not seem at all concerned with safety. Worst of all, we had an incident where we waited at a stop to board a bus, and had to keep waiting because it was full. As the next bus arrived, it didn't bother to pull all the way up to the bus stop where people were waiting, and just allowed about 12 people to walk up and board before the stop. As a result, a large group of people who had been waiting for at least 20 minutes were told they could either board the bus and stand, or wait an additional 30 minutes for the next bus due to traffic. Lots of small children and elderly folks were just made to stand on the bus while the people who had boarded the bus before the stop kept their seats. The driver just laughed. Total a-hole. Do not recommend.

Wouldn’t do again. Any... - Wouldn’t do again. Any other big bus tour we did, they have a live person telling you things about the place/ also it said we would visit the golden gate, and that did not happen.
