Awesom+e science museum - One great thing about the California Academy is that you can actually be *in* the exhibits. You walk through the rainforest, with butterflies flying around you. You can be surrounded by the fish in the aquarium. We stepped outdoors to see the baby reindeer about 6 months old. We were intrigued by the albino alligator. Lots of California natural history and hands-on exhibits. The big downside is that the tickets are very expensive. We splurged and enjoyed our time there and hope to go back.

My Favorite Science Museum including the Design of the Museum Itself - This is a wonderful museum, with a very well thought out and fascinating design. We loved all of the natural light that came into the museum, and the garden on the roof! We spent at least an hour inside the ecosphere and loved the path that wound upwards and all of the butterflies and birds! We also greatly enjoyed the vast aquarium on the lower floors. Claude the albino alligator was quite a sight and it was fun to hear all about him from the museum speaker. We also loved the gem and precious stone collection, and the photographic exhibit.

Great interactive museum - Ive been a fan of the California Academy of Sciences for many years after seeing some of their work on TV. It was great to visit the musuem which is very modern and has a range of exhibits detailing their work as well as information about the natural world. The exhibits range from interactive to traditional placards. The rainforest and aquarium were bot very nice and great to vist.

Loved the aquarium, enjoyed the rest - just avoid the cafe. - Loved the aquarium - interested in the living roof, enjoyed the natural history section admired the gems, shame the planetarium was shut. Just don't eat at the cafe. Service was pretty bad, drink was watered-down packet cordial (for $6US) and the soup was bland with over-salted bacon bits added. And the chips were stale. Take your own food.

Planetarium and Aquarium Visit - Morrison Planetarium shows were great! Our teenage granddaughters loved the entire experience. Nice to go back to the Steinhart Aquarium after 50 years!

Pleasant - Very interesting and a nice variety of pavilion. We can spend all day there if we read each of the signs. The earthquake simulation room is okay for children but disappointing for adults.

Lots to take in! - The academy is quite large and it has many diverse exhibits. Africa, the swamp, the aquarium, the tropical forest and the planetarium. We were not told we had to book a time slot for the planetarium so unfortunately we missed that exhibit. Very crowded but still able to move about. The on site cafeteria is a bit wanting though!

Lots of diversity at the Academy of Sciences - What was enjoyable about this place is the variety of activities and exhibits. There was a little bit of everything. This would be the perfect place to bring kids and spend a few hours. Even as a solo adult, it was an enjoyable way to spend a few hours after walking around gardens all morning. The price was a little steep though, especially if you were bringing a family. I will say that the planetarium show Habitat Earth was underwhelming and downright boring.

Just an OK Science Museum - Had just a full day in SF and chose the Science Museum. Our kids love the Frost Museum in Miami and thought it might be a similar experience. It actually is similar, but not quite the size and quality of the Frost. The planetarium shows OK films, a bit boring. Aquarium and Rainforest areas are also good, but not worth it really. Best part of the whole museum I would say is the albino gator. At 50+ for adults and 40+ for kids over 3 I found it expensive too.

Wrong dates on the ticket,no response - I've purchased my ticket today. The first email I received said the participation date was today, which was correct. Then when I received/ downloaded the office ticket, the date was tomorrow. I sent the email immediately, whish was this morning, but there's no response at all. Due to this error, I can't go anywhere today. I sent the 2nd email later and requested the refund. Don't even know if I can get my money back or not. Such a big disappointment and wasted my time and money for nothing.
