Road trip by the coast - Great trip with a great guide giving CA history. Trip is all day. I would not recommend for children or teens. It’s a lot of travel on bus. It’s definitely an adult trip.

Monterey, Carmel and 17-Mile Drive: Full Day Tour from SF - our driver George was fantastic and knowledgeable. He gave us great experience and insights during the trip. I didn't carry hard cash so couldn't tip him. If there is anyway i could share my tip through gray line appreciate the assistance. Thanks

it is a long day on the... - it is a long day on the coach but an interesting experience. The running commentary by George was interesting most of the time and entertaining. Stops at Monterey and Carmel were too long and the 17-mile drive element was by-passed because of a golf tournament.

Prioritize guest safety and comfort. - Don was a good tour guide with a wealth of knowledge. However, he failed dearly with regard to prioritizing the safety and comfort of his guests. The passenger entry door to the mini bus failed in the morning when leaving San Francisco. It failed again on the way back on highway 101. He seemed more concerned in the morning than when returning to San Francisco. On the way back on the highway, he drove too fast, which caused the door to come open to begin with. He passed several opportunities to pull over or exit the highway to fully close the passenger entry door. Additionally, we stopped in Davenport on the way to Monterey...on the northbound side of Highway 1 with no bus parking. It seems like the better choice would have been to stop in Santa Cruz at the Safeway or similar, where the parking situation is better. Otherwise, one wrong move in traffic and you're toast. Also, why is there a bathroom break 10 minutes after leaving Fisherman's Wharf but not one on the way back to San Francisco from Carmel? There's essentially 3 bathroom stops on the way to Monterey, but none on the return trip. Maybe cut the Hilton Union Square restroom stop out for a bathroom stop on the return trip. -- The tour itself is actually pretty good. The scenery seen on the way to Monterey is wonderful. Sit on the right if you want endless ocean views. Sit on the left for more landscape views. We stopped at Pigeon Point Lighthouse prior to Davenport, which offers scenic ocean views. There's plenty of good lunch spots in Monterey. Order quick service to get the most out of your time (about two hours). Maybe defer the aquarium to another visit or skip altogether? $65 for adults and $50 for kids and seniors older than 70. We covered about 8-9 miles of 17 Mile Drive (oceanside portions) and left after visiting the Lone Cypress and Pebble Beach Lodge. We got enough time in Carmel to scope the shopping scene out and see the beach (about an hour and change). -- Overall, with a guide that prioritizes safety and comfort, this tour can be five stars. The drive to Monterey / Carmel is very scenic for nature lovers. The itinerary provides enough time to enjoy the sights seen on the tour.

Make sure they check - Make sure they check to as if the 17 mile section is open before the tour. They didn’t on ours and it was closed to the public.

the tour itself was... - the tour itself was great! however: - for the first few hours you cannot see through the window clearly cause its fogging too much. Driver Jerry gave us some tissue paper and called it “antifog system” - Driver Jerry was also Guide Jerry, which made it look like a two-man job instead of one, keeping in mind that the truck was flying through the highways - Funny thing: after the tour, he only said goodbye to those that left him a tip. Jerry mentioned that the complimentary 10% tip is 20$. We booked the trip for 125€ per person.

The locations are good... - The locations are good and scenic but the bus needs an upgrade! The door wouldn’t close properly and would make constant noise. Infact it remained slightly open in the return journey before driver realised and pulled it again.

The bus was terrible and... - The bus was terrible and the door wouldn't stay shut and we were all freezing. The driver was super aggressive with not being a minute late and I found it hard to enjoy because of being worried about being left behind. Never mind the lecture about cell phones and the rules. It was a bit much and he talked a lot about himself and his cat. Just wasn't a great day.
