Great tour! - The guide: Andre was a fantastic tour guide! He cares deeply for Chinatown and was very knowledgeable about the area from both a modern & historical context, bringing up interesting anecdotes about nearly every block we traversed on the tour and answering all of the group’s questions. It was fun to see him interact with people he knew in Chinatown, both at the food stops and just while walking around, and I got the sense he was always keeping track of the people on the tour as well as maintaining awareness of our surroundings. He even made sure to point out opportunities for my 4-year old to take a quick break & play at an adjacent playground, which was incredibly thoughtful and much-appreciated. The food: Andre was cognizant of any dietary restrictions, making sure all were accommodated when possible (accommodations were easily made for me as a vegetarian). I was full by the end of the tour but not so stuffed that I skipped dinner (we did the 10:30 am tour). The terrain: The tour does cover a lot of ground, including hills & crowded sidewalks, so it might not be a great fit for people who need a slower pace, but our group kept up just fine. We got to see the more touristy street as well as the less touristy street, plus interesting/notable art & architecture as we traversed the blocks and hills of the area. Plan to arrive a few minutes early so you can find the group, get signed in, and ensure you’re not going to miss such a wonderful experience!

Awesome - Our guide was fantastic and informative. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The selection of restaurants he made, and the shops that he showed us, were all delicious / enjoyable.

Scratching the surface of Chinatown - If I could add more than 5 stars I would. This tour also points out landmarks and history in the area, as well as culinary history. Andre was an excellent tour guide, explaining from a standpoint of someone who's unfamiliar with the area an in depth history and culture associated with the historical district. The food was good and has vegan/vegetarian/gluten free options. Walking the streets of Chinatown was the closest thing to China we'll personally ever see.

Tour in Chinatown, SF - Andre was a great guy. He kept the pace going with visits to many unique eateries while tells us wonderful stories about the history and current livelihoods in the Chinatown district. Really a must do tour for anyone who enjoys walking and wants great insights into The life and dishes of Chinatown. Andre doesn’t skimp on time and makes every moment enjoyable.

Great way to experience Chinatown - Second time doing this tour -- I brought my brother from out of town this time. Tasty food (moon cakes, tea shop and Peking duck were a hit), and some great history from our guide Brian. We spent a little time in the shops and Chinese cultural center afterwards (the line at the fortune cookie store was a bit too long for us). Had a great time.
