SPUD ROCKS! - Spud is the BEST! My hubby and I were visiting San Francisco (from Atlanta) on our 26th Wedding Anniversary and booking this tour was like spending time with family and friends. He's articulate, knowledgable, and has a GREAT sense of humor! Book this tour...you won't regret it!

A great food tour for tourists and locals. - What a birthday surprise! Spud, our guide, did a phenomenal job of weaving the history and culture of North Beach and SF with 5 great food stops. His choices were spot on - Italian sandwiches, pizza, roasted vegetables, pasta (cacio e Pepe), flatbreads on some of the best focaccia I've ever had and of course, gelato. Spud was fantastic - a retired travel writer, he was a wealth of knowledge about SF and the state. Even as a Bay Area local, we learned so much.

Wonderful tasting tour of North Beach - Jinni P was amazing! Her knowledge of the North Beach area was amazing. Each and every restaurant we visited was delicious and her recommendation beyond the tour were awesome too. I would take a tour with her again and recommend to even my closet friends to do the same! Loved it!

A Wonderful Three Hour Tour - What a wonderful tour and way to spend three hours in North Beach. We visited several popular places for pizza (Il Casaro), pasta (Betty Lou's), focaccia (Mario's Bohemian Cigar Store Cafe-which is not really a cigar store; find out the reason for the name when you take the tour), a sandwich (Molinari Delicatessen), and gelato (Lush Gelato). Each place had its own charm and story. And to show the breadth of the tour, each of the four of us on the tour chose a different dish as our favorite. Personally I liked the chocolate chip and mint gelato. The tour was enhanced by the personality and energy of our tour guide, Spud, a former SF Chronicle writer and editor. His stories about the food and restaurants, knowledge of SF history, and his infectious personality made the whole event fun and engaging. My girlfriend and I ended the tour more knowledgeable about North Beach, and looking forward to a return visit. We recommend the North Beach walking food tour for the food, history and fun

North Beach Walking Tour - My husband and I had a great experience with Mike! It was only the two of us on the tour, and Mike let us take our time and customize the tour. He had a wealth of information about not only North Beach, but also San Fran. He provided us with many great activity and restaurant recommendations.

Sampling the best of North Beach - Excellent food tour in North Beach. Michael was extremely knowledgeable about the history of San Francisco and North Beach. The food was great and the tastings were all outside. It was a fun way to sample some of the best restaurants and to learn about the area. Highly recommend this tour.

Excellent Tour/Average Food - Fabulous North Beach tour with Girlina – highly recommend signing up with her, when possible. Her breadth and depth of San Francisco history is phenomenal. As a local of nearly 20 years, I learned so much! Unfortunately, the food portion of the outing was not commensurate with the history/tour portion. The eating establishments were good (esp. Molinari), but the food choices were mostly basic and meager. I recommend the tour, with Girlina for a deep understanding of the history of this colorful area of SF! The excursion would have been 5*, had it not been for the food portion. The tour portion was definitely Excellent/5*

Just not a tour anyone should endure - Dark charmless pasta spot. Weird stories about kidnappings. Very odd places you visit like an alley with Japanese anime over on the Chinatown side of Broadway. Stand on top of a parking garage and eat a sandwich. It’s all weird. Don’t do it. Just walk around north beach and buy some food.
