Additional Information

For a tranquil sea experience, jump on the Privateer, an authentic antique sailboat, for a semi-personal 90-minute journey of the bay, accompanied with beer and wine. This beauty, a twin-masted, teak-decked, bronze-fitted marvel, accommodates more than 28 travelers but has been reduced to only 16 amidst the pandemic to ensure you enjoy ample personal service from the capable and hospitable team. The Privateer glides across to Alcatraz and Angel Island, drifts by the quaint and scenic Sausalito, lines up with the grand Golden Gate Bridge and cruises past the iconic San Francisco skyline on its route back to Pier 39.

  • If you plan on drinking alcohol, please remember to bring your valid government-issued 21+ ID.
  • We reserve the right to make the final decision as to whether your tour will be cancelled. Tours will only be cancelled in the event of hard rain or unsafe conditions at the time of the tour.
  • Please dress appropriately for the weather. It does tend to be colder out on the water, so we highly recommend layers and close-toed shoes.

Exciting tour - It was just fun to sail bay area with beautiful views. Circling Alcatraz and using the wind only to move across the water, wonderful.

A perfect day for a perfect adventure. - Just a good over all experience other then the 4 women next to us that chatted the whole time I could barley hear the waves hitting the boat. Other than that ot was great. He had the perfect sailing weather it truly was an amazing experience

Lovely, Quiet Sailing Experience - I chose this experience because it seemed safe enough for me to enjoy and adventurous enough for my husband and son to love. It was lovely for us all. It's 90 minutes of quiet and beauty. The captain & first mate do not talk/narrate. They just sail well & keep an eye on passengers to ensure all have a nice, safe time. We enjoyed the 2 drinks and the lovely views. The family next to us had their sweet 3 year old bundled up in blankets provided. Our 4:15 sail was un-crowded and very comfortable. Do layer up! It's chilly out there. :)

Best time ever - My wife and I made it a habit of going for our wedding anniversary. So this was our 3rd time going. Best sailing boat experience anyone would find in the bay.

Real sailing, not on a motoring boat! - There was a very stiff wind the time we went out and we couldn’t go as far as the Golden Gate Bridge, but we got to go past Alcatraz and then all the way around it and then back to the Baybridge and then all along the city skyline from there. It was a fun and unique experience being on a sailing ship where the motor was used only it’s for the initial part to get out of the harbor. The open bay was sailing and very exciting. The first mate was prompt with bringing us our drinks and even offering seconds.

Disappointing and no commentary at all - We were disappointed in the 90minute sailing tour. We were promised views from ‘underneath the Golden Gate Bridge’ but it was a mere spec in the distance. We did not sail anywhere near Saulsilito or Angel Island. Captain Micheal did not give a single word of commentary about anything and the advertised free drinks were cans in foam cup holders. We sailed closely around Alcatraz so managed to get some photos of that but all the other places we expected to see were somewhere far in the distance - no idea where as they weren’t pointed out. The boat was shabby and needs painting/varnishing and I would not recommend this tour.
