While used as a federal prison between 1933-1966, Alcatraz housed some of the most dangerous criminals of the time, including Al Capone, James “Whitey” Bulger and George “Machine Gun” Kelly. Featuring unbelievable views of the San Francisco peninsula, a visit to the island is essential when in town.

Experience all the highlights in a single day! Tour the key landmarks of San Francisco, have a meal break in Sausalito, and stroll through Muir Woods. If you’ve chosen the Alcatraz addition, your afternoon will feature a ferry trip to Alcatraz Island for the Official Alcatraz Tour.
8am – Leave from Fisherman’s Wharf
8-9:30am – Discover the BEST parts of San Francisco!

9:30-11am – Tour Muir Woods
Spend 75 minutes amidst some of the few remaining coastal redwoods on the planet!
11am-12pm – Lunchtime in Sausalito
Have your lunch in the charming Sausalito town where you can indulge in shopping and exploration!
1:30pm - If you’ve opted for the Alcatraz upgrade, you’ll be brought to Pier 33 for the Official Alcatraz Tour! Those who didn’t opt for Alcatraz will be brought back to the original starting point.
- A current passport or any government issued ID is required to redeem Alcatraz tickets.

A bit of everything! - Great tour! Pat was our guide and he was very informative. We went with one of the recommended lunch spots in Sausalito and it was lovely. Muir Woods was beautiful and the views of Golden Gate Bridge were better than we imagined. Alcatraz your was great and the tour set us up with all we needed to get to the island. Definitely recommend this tour!

Great tour - Worth the money!! - The tour was absolutely amazing! Our tour guide Roger knew lots of interesting tidbits about the city. Our lunch in Sausalito was great and wasn’t a typical buffet style place that your tour guide takes you to. We did end up having an issue at Alcatraz with our tickets, but the company did a great job accommodating the time we had to book us a new tour. I definitely recommend taking this tour!

So much beauty in one day ! - The meeting place was easy to find. The chosen landmarks were stunningly beautiful. We were at the perfect spot for the Golden Gate Bridge, the Muir Red Wood Forest, Sausalito shops and restaurants and finally dropped off right in front of the pier to retrieve tickets to board boats going to Alcatraz. The redwoods are magnificent, Sausalito and Alcatraz islands were also incredibly beautiful. So much beauty in one day! If you only have one day in SF, I absolutely recommend this tour !
