While used as a federal prison between 1933-1966, Alcatraz housed some of the most dangerous criminals of the time, including Al Capone, James “Whitey” Bulger and George “Machine Gun” Kelly. Featuring unbelievable views of the San Francisco peninsula, a visit to the island is essential when in town.

Experience all the highlights in a single day! Tour the key landmarks of San Francisco, have a meal break in Sausalito, and stroll through Muir Woods. If you’ve chosen the Alcatraz addition, your afternoon will feature a ferry trip to Alcatraz Island for the Official Alcatraz Tour.
8am – Leave from Fisherman’s Wharf
8-9:30am – Discover the BEST parts of San Francisco!

9:30-11am – Tour Muir Woods
Spend 75 minutes amidst some of the few remaining coastal redwoods on the planet!
11am-12pm – Lunchtime in Sausalito
Have your lunch in the charming Sausalito town where you can indulge in shopping and exploration!
1:30pm - If you’ve opted for the Alcatraz upgrade, you’ll be brought to Pier 33 for the Official Alcatraz Tour! Those who didn’t opt for Alcatraz will be brought back to the original starting point.

Wonderful experience and well worth the money - Our tour guide Dylan was friendly, funny and informative.
Visiting Alcatraz is a must if visiting SF for the first time. It exceeded our expectations
Muir woods was beautiful and 1.5 hours to walk around was the perfect amount of time.
Dylan stopped us next to the Golden Gate Bridge where we were able to experience its beauty and take amazing pictures

Such a great tour for first timers to SF - We had a great time on the tour! Our guide, Pear was excellent!! He was a great source of knowledge, humorous and we particularly loved the local tips he gave at the end!
I will be recommending first timers to SF do the tour as it is a great introduction and sets you up well to see lots of things you didn’t know were even worth seeing!

San Francisco sites - Had a great time and would recommend it to all. Great overview of city, key historical events, and city sites. Muir Woods was spectacular. Mark was a great tour guide and the SF music tied to Sausalito was special. I recommend distributing tickets to Alcatraz island folks prior to arriving at the port to make the transition more efficient.

Great tour! Patrick was terrific - Great tour of SF highlights. Driving tour was informative, fun and engaging. The stop at Muir Woods was a highlight! So beautiful and just the right amount of time for a nice walk and exploring. Music theme throughout was great! Patrick was terrific!! And the Alcatraz add on tour was helpful

Nice tour - Our tour guide Patrick was very informative. He did a great job of keeping everyone included with his trivia games. Bus was comfortable, Muir Woods was relaxing walk, Alcatraz was intriguing.
