We’ll visit iconic landmarks and delve into fascinating stories about the city’s boom-and-bust history. Discover the origins of our famous fog, the gold rush, the invention of the cable car, and how the city survived multiple earthquakes. There’s a wealth of history to explore here. You’ll also get to sample treats from our renowned food scene, including Ghirardelli Chocolate and Boudin’s Sourdough. We’ll stroll along a section of the historic Barbary Coast trail, where I’ll share its vibrant past, leading us to the sea lion colony at Pier 39. The tour includes visits to three museums: guided tours of the Maritime Museum and Musee de Mecanique, and we’ll finish with a ride on the historic streetcar to our final stop, The Exploratorium. I’ll provide an introduction to its highlights to help you make the most of the 600+ interactive exhibits!
