Great value for the money! Great company! - We had a wonderful experience with St. Leonard's Easy to find. We arrived before the others in our party and were met by Rod and Mark- who spent 20 minutes or so entertaining and informing the four of us in our family (16 year old and 14 year old). They were very kind and we learned a lot. When everyone else arrived, we were given horses commensurate with our abilities, helmets and lots of water! The 8 riders were accompanied by 3 guides- so we were always safe and entertained. Other than me, no one else in my family had experience with horses and my wife was apprehensive. At the end of the tour, my family was so happy with the horses and the experience, way beyond our expectations. The tour at Xunatunich was excellent- Carla was very informative. She took good care of all of us, making sure we were always resupplied with water. We didn't get to see any monkeys- but they had been in the area. I would say, a great ride if you are looking for a safe, easy ride to the ruins. The horses look to be in great shape and are well cared for. Choose a different tour if you are into a bigger riding experience. The Xunatunich tour was excellent.

Amazing - We had the best horse back riding tour with Jose!! I would do it again in a heart beat. A beautiful trail along the river, to a small hand cranked ferry that you get to cross with the horses. And then after a beautiful ride, you get to walk through the Xunantunich ruins! Jose was a great guide on all fronts and had great horsemanship as well. You are in good hands! Highly recommend this tour, it was my favorite!

Carla is that woman - We did the farm ride and it was perfect for beginners and intermediate riders. The hike to see the Mayans ruins was hell but I would have rather do it on foot than go by horseback… THE VIEW WAS WORTH IT!

Unforgettable experience! - We had an amazing experience overall to say the least. First, due to floods in the area, the Xunantunich ruins were closed, we were offered couple of options by the St. Leonard’s Tours, including a refund. We went with alternative tour in another Mayan ruins in the area as well as horseback ride. Second, overall tour was very well organized. Third, the tour organizers were responsive and accommodating, they found an option for us to do the later tour, as we were arriving to Belize too late to start 7:30 am regular tour. Last but not least, our guide Jose was attentive, knowledgable and very funny. Really recommended, we had so much fun! Thank you, St. Leonard’s tours for such a memorable day!

Horseback to Xunantunich - Booked a horse back tour to Xunantunich with St Leonard's Tours beginning of May. We had 5, 'sort of', done this before horse riders. Jose' was the lead and fitted us extremely well to our horses and their demeanor. They walked; we rode. They pointed out sights along our route to the ferry and then the site. They gave us a little history, stories of the animals, trees and birds. Once at the sight, similar info was given, what had occurred here, how it came to be in the condition now etc. Jose' had a working knowledge, not just a memorized scrip to follow. He was able to answer more probing questions too. All in all a highlight of our Belize trip. Jose' and his group were fun, entertaining and we highly recommend this tour.

Great way to see Xunantunich and the countryside - We had a great time on this trip and would absolutely recommend it to all levels of riders! We were one intermediate and two novice riders that had no troubles on the ride. The horses were well trained. Our guide was very knowlegeable of the area with personal experiences to relate and did a great job guiding us on the hour and a half ride from the stables then down along the river and up to Xunantunich. It was a beautiful ride through the jungle along the river where we saw iguanas and spider monkeys and tasted allspice leaves. The tour was personalble and small which allowed for nice conversations. If you like horses this tour is a great way to see Mayan ruins.

Horseback and History! - Just an incredible experience! They are very knowledgeable and we walked away as a family of 4 learning so much about the area and the history of Xunantunich. I definitely recommend this to adventurous families who love horses and history!
