Fantastic Guide - My wife and I had an absolute blast on our tour of Nicaragua and our guide, Eduardo, was amazing! There were so many highlights... Volcano viewpoints, folklorico towns, carriage ride in Granada, boat ride on the lake, chocolate factory… the list goes on. Eduardo made us feel safe the entire time and was very informative. He provided so much interesting history of the places we visited and the country in general. Very knowledgeable! He was also incredible at speeding up the border crossing process to and from Costa Rica which was nice. Be forewarned: there is a LOT of driving on this tour and our transportation was a small sedan that became very uncomfortable for a big guy like myself. From what I gathered the mode of transportation can vary based on group size so you may want to verify in advance. FYI: I booked our tour of Nicaragua through an agency at our hotel called Tico Tours. They organized transportation to and from the border and subcontracted Cacique Tours for the actual tour. The initial crossing of the border into Nicaragua before meeting Eduardo was nerve wracking for us as non-Spanish speakers. Not for the faint of heart. I wish the Costa Rican agency (Tico Tours) had done a better job of explaining what that was going to look like. Definitely not the fault of Cacique Tours but something to be aware of.
